Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I made these to use some leftover peanut butter and oatmeal I had for other recipes. Everyone loved them. They said they practically melt in your mouth and taste just like the peanut butter girl scout cookies!

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
These are AMAZING. This was my first attempt at biscotti, and they taste just like the ones you would buy at a cafe. Perfect crunch and flavor! Everyone suggested I start selling them - they were that good!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Wow. I've never made an apple pie before, but I know I do not need to look for another recipe. This is the absolute best apple pie I have ever had, and it's so simple! Like others, I added 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp allspice. It also used a whole top crust with no trouble. This is definitely going down in my recipe book to share with my family's future generations!

Rich Italian Sausage and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I've never had the soup at Olive Garden everyone keeps mentioning, but this is delicious! I used a box of chicken broth instead of a bouillon cube. I was afraid it would be bland with such few ingredients, but I guess less is more in this case. It was full of flavor. I only added salt and pepper to taste. You can definitely get away with doubling the potatoes and pancetta. I'll be making this again!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: May 4, 2013
These turned out as expected and delicious. The pumkpin flavor is subtle. As other reviews mentioned, they are cake-like cookies. They're more fluffy than chewy - almost a muffin top consistency. I used 1/2 cup of butter instead of oil, and I added 1/4 tsp ground cloves and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. I also added 1/2 tsp cream of tartar for the cracked effect, but it didn't make a noticeable difference this time. I used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate. And finally, I ended up leaving these in the oven a bit longer than suggested, but maybe that's just my oven (around 14-15 minutes based on when the edges were just golden brown and the top of cookies were spongy/firm).

Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
The combination of bacon and chocolate and this recipe did not disappoint. I followed it exactly, even the timing, which I hardly do. These cookies are like a moist brownie in the middle with slight crunch around the edge. The bacon adds a nice surprise when you find a piece, but for those who decide to omit it, the cookie stands strong on its own. If I changed anything, I would add more bacon for true bacon lovers.

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I didn't really care for this dish. It had flavor, just not the one I was looking for. However, the vegetables were delicious! I really wanted it to taste just like lo mein from a Chinese buffet but not even close. :(
