I always thought that cooking was what wizards did in their towers, but with a simple enchiladas recipe I fell in love! Unfortunately because of my college student budget I don't get to cook everything I want, but I have become very crafty with recipes. I work in a biology lab and often wish I had the same tools I use to make solutions as I do at home. Making things in the lab is a lot like cooking, and both have helped me learn a lot about food.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make a huge dish for my boyfriend and I so over the rest of the week we can just eat leftovers. I have VERY little time to spend on cooking but making a large dish helps me during my none stop week.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I came from a family of amazing cooks. After years of getting made fun of because I never knew how I picked up cooking. Now they love the dishes I bring for them. So HA family! lol!
My cooking triumphs
Learning that certain ingredients can be replaced with things I have on hand or are just plain cheaper have saved a lot of money and time.
My cooking tragedies
My first experience with cooking was when I was at most 4 years old. I tried to make jello with milk... Needless to say it wasn't very good (although I have heard of people making jello with milk, I am so traumatized I never go near jello again).
I am also a horrible baker. I am too much of an experimenter with cooking that following precise rules with baking never fairs well.
