Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2013
Very good as written. I didn't have leftover ham, but wanted to try this recipe so I bought prepared diced ham. Next time I might add diced carrots and cheese like some other reviewers.

Perfect potato with increasing temp to 375 for large potatoes for only 1hr. The skin wasn't crisp though.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Wonderful! So many rave reviews and compliments on this pumpkin bread. I omitted the cloves because I didn't have any. Reduced sugar and will replace 1/2 the oil with applesauce. Made 2 9x5 loaves at a little over 50 minutes.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Very good! Nice comforting meal on a cold night. I made it exactly as written , but lengthened the browning time and shortened baking to 30 and 30 minutes per other reviewers suggestions.

Excellent even when made inside on the stove and bread under the broiler! Even my meat lover husband liked it.

Eat Michigan Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
Love it! I used feta cheese and plain pecans instead and was wonderful. Did not blend the dressing and it came out fine. Also used canola oil instead of veg. oil. Will definitely make again whether football season or not.

Spence's Pesto Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
Would've been better with mushrooms (my husband won't eat them) and more chicken. Also kind of dry. Next time I may add some chicken broth to reduce and scrap up the bits of yummies from the pan.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Very nice and easy to serve over rice or noodles. The steak stayed nice and tender to my surprise.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
Awesome! I substituted buttermilk also. I did fill regular tins to the top in hopes of large bakery style muffin tops, but then they were just harder to get out of the pan and started to crumble.

Banana Pudding II

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
Awesome. I haven't had this in a long time and almost forgot about it. I made it twice so far, once for me and my husband and once for a picnic. It is so good and the pudding is easier than I thought. Just be sure to stir dry ingredients and then add them to the wet and keep stirring the pudding until thick. It took me a little longer than suggested.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Very nutritious and easy to make. I halved the red pepper the first time, but will add all of it from now on. We ate it on tortillas with sour cream and cheddar cheese. Easy enough to add chicken or other veggies to as well.

Black Bean and Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Everyone loved it! I brought this dish to a potluck at work and the flavors paired beautifully together. I didn't have enough limes to make 1/3 cup so it was probably more like 1/4 cup. The garlic, cilantro, and green onions make this a tasty salad so don't forget to add them!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
Excellent idea. I didn't have the time to freeze my dough long enough so it was kind of a disaster at first, but the ones that did stay together taste wonderful. Next time I will freeze overnight.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I loved this recipe for slow cooker pot roast. It was so easy and so so flavorful! The gravy was also awesome. I added a few potatoes, carrots in the bottom, which were cooked to perfection. Nothing to be changed here.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I added everything to the slow cooker minus butter. It still came out wonderfully. I can see how you would want to add the soups later though as it wasn't smooth and creamy anymore. Served over egg noodles. Also this recipe was too salty for me, so next time I will add half the seasoning.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I liked the consistency of the coating of the chicken and the flavor, however the sauce did not thicken at all and also lost some flavor even with added garlic powder and ginger. Maybe I'll thicken with cornstarch and add worchestershire sauce next time.
