My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts, but have recently started branching out into main courses. Mostly pastas and chicken dishes. My boyfriend isn't the most ideal tester, since he doesn't like any vegetables or anything "too weird"...but I try to make new things that satisfy us both!
My cooking triumphs
I started out cooking by helping my mother make her from-scratch chocolate chip cookies. The recipe was passed to her from her grandmother, and she showed it to me. I made a few tweaks and changes, and after her first bite, she claimed that she will no longer make her cookies, and the recipe is all mine, haha! I took the cookie recipe to a few local contests and won a few ribbons!
My cooking tragedies
LOL where to start?? There was the one time I tried to make a caramel glaze and ended up with a burnt pan. The one time where I wasn't paying attention and used salt instead of sugar.. The worst? I was in the middle of a cookie recipe, and I realized I was out of baking soda! It was really late at night, so I couldn't go to the store, so I settled for using the baking soda in the fridge (used to absorb odors)...needless to say, I'll never do that again :oX

Peanut Butter Kisses I
Tasted really good! YOU MUST USE a pastry bag, or if lacking that, a ziploc bag with the corner cut off. I was in a mad rush making these for a party where the host was allergic to gluten. I didn't fully read through and just spooned the mixture onto the baking sheets. They spread out and were like cement. I scraped them off as best as I could, and even mangled, they went SO FAST! Guess it doesn't matter how they look. :oP

Penne, Tomato, and Mozzarella Salad
A little bland with the original recipe...and to me, it tasted much better cold...but a good recipe to give yourself a starting point.
