Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I didn't care for this. Something was just off with the flavor. Will not make again.

Chocolate-Dipped Fruit

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
This tasted good, but so much chocolate was wasted because it hardened to quickly and reheating didn't help. I dipped dried apricots and fresh strawberries...delish!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
I am basing this review on method alone. It definitely needs more spices- I used salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder under the skin and filled cavity with lemon, onion, and garlic. Came out very moist and flavorful. I took the advice of another reviewer and filled the foil with potatoes and then made mashed potatoes with them. Will definitely use this method again but with my own twist on flavors.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
I am not a big fan of salmon unless it is grilled because that seems to take away some of the fishiness flavor. This recipe was outstanding. I loved what I was eating instead of it being just okay as salmon usually is for me!

Terry's Texas Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
I had to add salt at the end of cooking to enhance flavors. I also added more cumin and jalapenos than the recipe called for. Would also be good with some canned adobo peppers. I would say a good starting recipe but needs modifications. I made in the slow cooker on low 8 hours after soaking overnight.

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I will make this again but put the spices underneath the skin for more flavor. Took longer than the written time to finish cooking.

Moroccan-Style Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I thought this would be much better than what it was. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything outstanding. Could have used more spices, more raisins for flavor.

Seasoned Broccoli Spears

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I'm rating the method rather than the overall flavor because I used different seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder) because I don't like thyme and didn't have any lemon pepper. This was very good and easy for a basic steamed broccoli method. I will definitely keep handy for a quick go to side dish. Tastes much better than frozen broccoli.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
This was very fresh tasting but slightly bland. Next time I would add more crushed red pepper and some fresh basil.

Slow Cooker Blackberry Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I substituted red raspberry jam instead of blackberry and used the jam for the sauce instead of the whole fruit. Was very flavorful. Dried out slightly but it was my fault because I cooked it too long. Will make again.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
good flavor but my cream cheese wasn't room temp so the texture was lumpy and off. i would have preferred more of a banana flavor.

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Good, easy, and quick. Healthy too if you use low fat cheese and use the chip topping sparingly.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Very good and easy to make. They maintain their crispness which I've had as a problem in the past with other recipes/baking mixes. Definitely going in the keep pile.

Ok, not anything extraordinarily wonderful. But this worked as an easy, simple side dish that I wanted.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
The sauce thinned out during cooking and I would have preferred it thicker. Overall, a really easy recipe that will vary based on the type of bbq sauce and italian dressing you use. Will make again but add more bbq sauce and less dressing to help thicken.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

This was soooo easy and really good. Tasted like a peanut butter ice cream pie. Not too sweet- everyone else that I served it to also really liked it. Refreshing on a hot summer's evening.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
Would have preferred a thicker sauce. Didn't add beef bouillan and used tabasco teriyaki sauce instead of the soy. Had a good flavor, very tender.
