Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
This came out perfect! Fluffy and creamy. I made it the night before and then beat it a little more to smooth it out again before using it.

Indian Eggplant - Bhurtha

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was delicious! I diced the eggplant and cooked it in with everything else because I wanted it to have some bite, and I also upped the spices a tad. We loved it. Really great vegan dish.

This recipe is simple and a great base for adding additional flavors.

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
The texture in these was very good, but I found there to be a noticeable baking powder flavor. I will cut back on this next time. I also found the addition of a little sugar and salt to be a great benefit to the flavor of the dish.

Austrian Pancake

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I used light cream instead of heavy and added a little fresh-grated nutmeg into the batter. It was so delicious and easy to make. My kids loved it. I served it with powdered sugar and fresh fruit.

They came out so good and stayed chewy after they cooled. Lots of textures and flavors. Very good.

Bifana

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
This was delicious! I finally found a way to use the rhubarb in our garden that my husband will eat. :) The chutney could easily be used in other dishes, which is good because it makes a lot.

Texas Spoon Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
A little bland. It could use some dressing up. The texture was excellent, and it was very easy to make. I think this would be a good base recipe.

Thumbprint Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I live at a high altitude, and I found the dough to be too crumbly to hold together. I added an extra egg (with the white), and it worked great. I also extended the baking time per the other reviews, and found that to be helpful. Delicious cookies!

Popcorn Balls

Came out great! I would have maybe preferred it a little chewier, but I'll just take the caramel off a little earlier next time.

Avocado Fennel Citrus Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This salad was every bit as good as it sounded (or better). Even my son ate it. I left out the grapefruit because my husband doesn't like it, but I didn't feel it was missing anything. (I left out the extra salt in the recipe. The fennel had a slight saltiness to it already, and with the lime juice, I didn't feel it needed any extra salt - just a personal preference).

Strudel Dough

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This dough was so dry, tough, and bland, it was really disappointing. If I had it to do over again, I would have chosen to cut butter into the dry ingredients like you would a pie crust, to help it be more flaky, but I likely won't even bother trying this again in the future.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Excellent! My husband and 3 year old also loved it. I used fresh corn (just sliced it right off the cob) and a little extra cumin.
