Cretons

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
My dad is from Maine and has been making this recipe for as long as I can remember. He called today and mentioned he'd lost the recipe. I told him I'd go on-line to Allrecipes.com and search for it. He didn't have much faith I'd find it. You should have heard how excited I was to tell him I'd found it!! Thanks Nans.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2013
This was sooo good. I used juice of one large lime, used fresh garlic (vs powder). Marinated for about 4 hours. Easy and delicious. Had leftover chicken and ate it cold the next day for lunch. Was THAT good!

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2013
Modified as others suggested using Rolo's (husband bought mini Rolo's and they worked perfect) and pecan half. Took them to a lake house party and the kids and adults DEVOURED them. :) Baked at 250 degrees for 2 minutes. Used parchment paper on cookie sheet and transferred to refrigerator to cool. Will make 2 batches next time.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
Giving 5 stars but for revised version. Followed others suggestions and used 16 oz froz mixed veggies, increased onion, added garlic salt and poultry seasoning. We ate it for dinner, took for lunch the next day to work and ate it for dinner again! Great comfort food!

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Easy, fast, yummy! Daughter LOVED them! Used canned green chilies b/c I did not have jalapenos on hand. Skipped cilantro again, because I didn't have it. Although think recipe needs it. Will definitely make again (w/cilantro)!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This was delicious...even better the next day! I followed other recommendations and doubled the cheese and broccoli, as well as used part milk and part 1/2 and 1/2. Used real garlic vs. the powder. I did add mushrooms, too. Think it would have been better without them as the kids are not fans. Great recipe. Makes a lot! Will definitely make again.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Very tasty and simple. Had most of the ingredients already on hand. Even better the next day after flavors have had a chance to blend.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Have made several different versions of a breakfast casserole. Those with a bread base can be "iffy". Often can be soggy. This was great. Family had multiple servings. Good as leftovers, too.

Velvety Pumpkin Soup With Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
This was EXCELLENT - used gorgonzola vs. blue cheese 1st time and shredded Parm the 2nd. Used pre-cooked bacon bits. Husband also put croutons on top. So easy and great flavor! A keeper.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
Hard to rate this as not enough info was given - at what temp should the grill be set? what is indirect grilling? I made some assumptions on my own, as well as read some of the reviews to get more direction but this recipe really needed to provide more info.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
I followed others recommendations and did not dredge chicken breasts but did add flour to sauce to thicken. Also upped the mushrooms to a pound and used 16 oz chicken broth. Was very easy to prepare and very tasty. Think I cooked the chicken a little too long because it was a tad dry but will definitely make this again.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Really liked this - pretty easy and tasty. Used the no boil lasagna noodles, 1/3 tsp dried rosemary and EVOO when sauteeing the onion and garlic. For me, it was a tad on the bland side. However, think the flavors will intensify overnight. Will follow some of the recommendations others suggested the next time (using basil vs. rosemary, adding ricotta, using less veg broth, etc). We know several vegetarians and think this recipe would really impress them.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
I followed what the other reviewers did - using milk versus water. Agree that there is not enough sauce for the amount of noodles. Either double the sauce or halve the noodles, depending on how many servings you need. Everybody loved it and it was very easy to make. Only downfall was that meat was on the tough side. May try crock pot next time to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, great recipe.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Gave this to my daughter and a friend (very picky eater) for dinner. They said, "We don't like this... We LOVE it!". Followed the recipe as indicated but did not use frozen chicken. Will definitely make this again.

I have never prepared prime rib. After reading all the 5 star ratings, I had the confidence to try it out for a Xmas dinner I was hosting. FABULOUS!!! All guests are food snobs so it's always a challenge preparing something that will impress. THIS DID IT!! A keeper! Thanks AR.
