Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Agreed with other reviewers; a good base to build on with added garlic, etc...

Roasted Butternut Squash and Garlic Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
My husband and I weren't too excited about this one. It was good, but it really needed something. Maybe sausage. I think it's a good base for building on and will definitely do so.

I like more cinnamon but that's an easy adjustment and personal taste, so 5 stars!!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I made this exactly as written (that's my own rule for reviewing recipes- make it the way it was intended the first time!) This has too much lemon and a little too much tahini for my and my husbands taste, but it is a very good starting point for tweaking it the way we like it.

Easy Baklava

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
So good! I cut my piece bigger than called for because my knife wasn't very sharp- don't do this! The syrup didn't reach the middle of my pieces as well. It was still really good, but I will get myself a better knife next time!

Naan

Worked well on my stove top grill pan. Make sure to roll it out thin for the best results. It will puff up like at the restaurant if it's thin enough.

Maple Sponge Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2003
Finally! After a long, hard search for a good "Seafoam" candy recipe (not to mention three batches that turned out more like divinity than what I was trying to make), I have found it! After breaking the candy into pieces, I dipped them in chocolate like you would get if you bought this at the store. Yummy! By the way, to the people who complained about this being "too hard": it's supposed to be hard! That's why you cook it to the *hard crack* stage. One hint is to line your pan with foil and butter or spray it well so you can just lift the candy out when it's set.

Delicious. Added more spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Have also made using molasses instead of coffee.

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
Wonderful!! Instead of straight Irish Cream, I used 1/4 Cup Irish Cream and 3/4 Cup Butterscotch Schnopps in the bottom layer, thus creating a "Slippery Nipple" or "Buttery Nipple" fudge (although next time I will probably use 1/2 Cup of each). I also omitted the nuts. I made the top layer the way the recipe reads. I used a larger pan, probably 9x16 or so. Next time I will at least double the recipe for the top layer. My husband, who does not like fudge (not a plain chocolate fan) liked this, as did my coworkers and friends. Will definately make this again!

This recipe is constantly asked for when I make it for parties and pot lucks. It is the most requested item I make, which is saying quite a bit since I am an avid cooker/baker!!
