Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
MMmMmmMMmm just finished too many plates of this. Thank You for teaching me the secret of peeling off the leaves by boiling and pulling off one at a time. After that, I skipped the egg to hold rice and hamburger together and had to cook way more filling to go with all the leaves I was able to pull. The sauce needed help. Added tomato paste and 2 cups of water, along with some brown sugar, vinegar and wooster as suggested by others. I can't give exact measurements, but it was as good if better than I remember....will make again and again

Greek Pasta with Tomatoes and White Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
This was a very good recipe with a nice combination of flavors. My only disappointment was the sauce...it was a bit runny; not as saucy and thick as I'd like. Perhaps I should have drained the canned tomatoes first. I will try again and if it's still runny next time, I'll add tomato paste because DH and I really enjoyed the flavors.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
My family LOVED this. Especially the sauce, we saved the leftover sauce for dunking bread, crackers, anything whatsoever in. I used one can cream/mushroom and then used the can to measure 1 can of heavy whipping cream, instead of cornstarch & canned milk (or water like other users suggested). Mixed in the soup mix, added frozen chicken, chopped potatoes (skin on) and sprinkled basil on top. Yum! Might try adding green beans next time; not carrots, afraid it will take away from the flavor.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
I finally found the a mac and cheese recipe that is REALLY cheesy. This is the real Cheese and Macaroni reversal. There was so much cheese, I had to cook more macaroni than required. I used sharp cheddar instead of american, and only had half the required amount of processed cheese so added mozzarella to make up the difference. The processed cheese gives you the creamiest, choose the accompanying cheese according to your taste--we like the cheddar better.

Broccoli Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
I ran across this recipe while searching for a cheeseless side dish to serve to my in-laws who were coming to dinner for the first time....my mother-in-law could not get enough of this. The stuffing mix on top really makes this one! Even my son who hates stuffing devoured it. Simple flavors, easy to make.

Spinach, Sausage and Cheese Bake

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
I need to re-do this recipe a bit before 5-star rating. Definitely drain spinach on paper towel, as suggested by another user--frozen spinach never drains well and leaves dish a bit soupy and more spinachy flavor than spinach haters would tolerate. I also would like to try ricotta rather than cottage cheese; even if it's more calories, it is atkins friendly and will blend much better. The flavor was very good as is. I just want to work on the appearance and consistency of the final dish.

Chocolate Meringue Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2004
This is an excellent creamy, easy to spread, icing. The flavor is wonderful, not too rich or too sweet; just melt in your mouth goodness. Definitely whip your egg whites to stiff peaks. Recipe lacks the instruction of when to add the vanilla, but be sure to add it. The description indicated there would be flecks of chocolate but since the receipe directs you to melt all the choclate I'm not sure how you obtain this. I guess you could grate some in afterwards--it might make the icing even better, if that's possible. Just what I was looking for. Thank you!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2002
The kids enjoyed this, even the picky one, but he didn't eat much. The adults felt it was way too sweet and would've been better to use the pork with a nice BBQ sauce than this too sweet one. I'd suggest using less sugar.

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2002
Um-mmmmmmm. Everyone in my family just loved this receipe and said I should make it more often. I used less cream cheese (about 4 oz) as others suggested, and used Fat-Free Caesar dressing (because I had no Italian). I didn't have the 6 hours to wait for the frozen chicken to cook in the slow cooker, but it didn't matter. The chicken was still very good; it just didn't fall apart as easy. I'll be making this one a lot!

Cheesy Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2002
Gosh!! I hate to be the sourpuss, but this turned out to be one of those recipes that sounded like it would be great, and was a big disappointment. Perhaps I did something wrong, but I had expected the creamcheese to melt and blend with the cheddar adding a creamy texture. Intead it was just a blob of melted cheese in a shell that while melted did not blend well and tasted overwhelmingly of cream cheese. Very unmexican and the family was disppointed that I had used their favorite cream cheese for bagels to make this disastor.

Eggplant Parmesan from Betty's Kitchen®

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
Wow!! This was wonderful. While we love the sweet taste of eggplant, I almost forgot it was eggplant. I did cut mine thin 1/4 ". I swore I was eating a miniature bite-size pizza--NOT one of those frozen kinds you get in the store. Would make a great appetizer, no utensils required. Not even children can resist this one. VERY tasty!!!

Fish in Foil

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2002
This was great. I can never cook fish right. This turned out absolutely divine. The filet fell apart and was moist and not too fishy--even the house didn't smell overwhelmingly fishy. My son raved over it. Way to go!!!! Thank you!

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Quick to prepare, and very flavorable using common kitchen staples and ingredients. I could smell the cheesy flavor while it baked. An hour was almost too long to wait!

Jenny's Jambalaya

I've been coming to AllRecipes.com for a couple years now, and while so many recipes are wonderful this is the FIRST time I felt so inclined to return to write a review. The flavor and kick was just what I was looking for in a jambalya receipe. The family can't shovel it in fast enough. Mmmmmm good!!!!
