French Herb Wine Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
Outstanding, and so simple. I used left over red vine vice sherry, but I bet port would be great, too. Batch made was still just as fresh and delicious after two weeks.

Gooey Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
While this "frosting" had a nice taste, not being too sweet like other sugar based frostings, I would not classify this as a "frosting" at all. This is more like a sauce (and not even a glaze). My cake tastes good, but it's now soaked. I would consider making some significant adjustments to the quanitities of ingredients used if you're hoping for something thicker (like no water and doubling the chocolate). Chilling overnight before using made little difference.

Fudge Meltaways

Not bad. Never been crazy about coconut in baking. Double the chocolate for the top layer.

Chocolate Nuggets

Wowsers, these are great! You know how you read some recipes and they say you'll get a fudgy cookie out of them but you don't. Well, you do with these babies! One guy at work even classified these as the "best cookies he's ever had in his life!"

Roasted Garlic Bean Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Whilo not a terrible dip, I thought it was a little boring. There are several other dips I'd make before this one.

Won Ton Wrapper Appetizers

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
Not bad. A fair amount of work for an average appy - I found it a little bland. I'd consider changing the ingredients before making again.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2003
Nice. A funky kind of mild with the wine (maybe it was just the new pasta sauce I used). Makes a nice leftover from frozen.

Chicken Lasagna II

A tasty alternative to regular lasagna and a great way to use whole chicken leftovers. Definately a keeper!

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2002
Mmm, what a nice change from the ordinary. And so nice hot, too (usually only have it cold). Recommendation: go for 1/4 cup vinegar instead of 1/3.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2002
Two weeks old and their STILL soft! Great recipe. The pudding is worth a try, however, I'd sacrifice some of the softness and put in about 75% of the amount recommended: they tasted a little too much like dry pudding.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
A nice twist to the standard choc chip cookie (and great use for those ripening bananas). Next time, I'll 1/2 the baking powder.

Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2002
While it takes a bit of time to prepare, if you have the time, it's worth it. Very nice subtle flavour that compliments many dishes. I scallop the potatoes instead of mashing them and omit the sour cream.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2001
Although it does take a bit of time (only to allow it to marinate), it's a great recipe. I thought the sauce may have been perhaps a bit overbearing, but indeed, it wasn't. This recipe is truly a gem among all the others!
