About this Cook
I had worked in the business world for a good 13 years before I married, had 2 beautiful babies, and became, what I like to refer to as, a "domestic engineer". My husband's family got me into "hard core" cooking. His Polish father taught me how to make the best sauce around "go figure" and Italian mother taught me quick and easy meals that have more taste and nutrition than you could imagine!
My favorite things to cook
I love grilled meats and veggies! Could eat them every day of my life! The neighbors think I'm nuts because I, literally, have grilled in a blizzard. What? Just throw it on, run inside, time it, run back out to big deal :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
No one in my family really cooked all that impressively when I was growing up. Like I said above, my in-laws are who got me cooking!
My cooking triumphs
Catering my daughter's 1st birthday party for 40+ people and having everyone ask, "Where did you get the food? It's delicious!"
My cooking tragedies
Marinating the most beautiful Porterhouse steak too was as salty as the ocean floor. It looked amazing, but tasted REALLY bad.

Ricotta Gnocchi
The recipe came out a lot better than I thought it would - - couldn't stop eating it! I added a sprinkle or two of sugar to the sauce. Next time might add some sauteed shrimp or some mini meatballs. Will definitely make this one again...tasted like something from a fancy Italian restaurant. - Thanks!

Pasta, Broccoli and Chicken
I used a can of diced tomatoes (with garlic, basil, and oregano) instead of the chopped. Also, I grilled chicken that had been marinating in Italian salad dressing (that alone is a yummy entree') and threw it in at the end. I also increased the amount of pesto to 4-5 "heaping" TBSP. As with anything, the longer this dish sits, the more flavor comes out. I enjoyed it- And believe it or not, my 5 year old son even ate it - - broccoli and all!! Good stuff..thanks
