Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
Just made this for dinner and it was delicious. My husband loved it! Did a few things differently after reading the other reviews. I sautéed an onion, once celery stalk and some chopped baby carrots in butter and garlic first. Then added the broth and water, using an extra cup of water to make up for the added veggies. I used the whole box of rice (6 oz.). For the roux, I used 6 tbsp. of butter and less flour (about 1/3 cup). Definitely recommend it!

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Followed this recipe as stated and gave it five stars due to the fact that it was a fairly healthy soup. I did use whole milk in place of soy, only because that is what we have on hand. Next time we may use Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt to give it more bite and protein. The plain yogurt gave it a sweeter taste. Overall, very good!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
Made this one night following the recipes and adding a little more cilantro at the end for flavor. Had it as tacos and neither my husband or I thought it was spectacular. A little too salty. However, a few days later we used to leftover shredded chicken to make quesadillas and they were excellent! Sauteed green pepper, green onion, and corn separately. Then made our quesadillas with the chicken, veggie mix, and cheese. Liked them so much more the second time! And, a good use of the leftovers.

Shoyu Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
We've made this twice so far and really enjoyed it both times. The first time we made it we used 3 chicken breast and halved the marinade since it seemed like a lot. We grilled them and they turned out really well. The second time,we cut 3 chicken breasts into chunks, added the marinade and let it sit over night. This time though I used the full amount for the marinade. We skewered the chicken grilled it. My husband and I liked it even more the second time. The flavors were able to set in even more and it had just the right amount of kick to it. Not so much that we were miserable, but enough so that you could feel the heat. We didn't find it that spicy the first time. Served with grilled mixed veggies and grilled sliced pineapple. Made a great meal!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
The mushrooms are the most delicious part!! My husband and I both agreed that these were probably the best mushrooms we've had. We marinated the mushrooms and chicken together overnight and followed the recipes exactly as written for the marinade. Put them on skewers and grilled them. The chicken was really good too!

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
My husband and I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious. We did double the sauce. We did this because the sausage came in a pack of 5 so instead of having half of the pack left over, we just went ahead and made double the recipe, using all the sausage. Best part is we have plenty left over for lunches! We also used mild sausage instead of sweet because that was what was at the store and took the advice of others and used 1/4 cup of vodka (or 1/2 cup since we doubled the recipe). Really easy to make and really good as is.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Made this for dinner tonight and my husband and I loved it. More or less stuck to the recipe. We used mild italian sausage just because I grabbed the wrong kind at the store. There were only plain roma tomatoes instead of the italian style so when I added them to the pan I also added a teaspoon of italian seasoning. We did use the heavy cream but did need to add cornstarch at the end to thicken the sauce. Overall, very easy to make and delicious! Thanks for sharing.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
Just made this tonight and it was delicious! We did make some changes based on others' reviews. We used 1/4 cup of dijon and a 1/4 cup yellow mustand. We also used onion powder insteard of flakes just for the sake of texture. Otherwise, followed it as written. Definitely will make again but not often since it is not very healthy! But worth making. We also added some green onions on top for garnish which was really good. Thanks.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Loved this recipe!! We used a pound of deli top round roast beef sliced thin. Used one green pepper and one red and added a package of mushrooms. Only made half cup of mayo but used one and a half teaspons of minced garlic. Also used provolone instead of mozzarella. Came out amazing! My fiance lived in Philly and said this was one of his favorite cheesesteaks ever. Will use again.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
Just made this for dinner tonight. We LOVED it! I sliced the chicken before cooking, just because it says to slice it later anyway. We love garlic so when I salted and pepperd the chicken I also added some garlic powder. I cooked the chicken with half a sliced onion (just because we had some to use). I also doubled the minced garlic for the sauce. Made this with "Great Garlic Bread" from this site. Definitely will make again!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
Wonderful recipe. We used a 12 oz. can of tuna and still cut back on the mayo. We only used 5 tablespoons. The rest of the ingredient amounts we kept the same. It is delicious. It was perfect to pack for lunch.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Very easy meal to make. We used fresh basil but canned tomatoes already seasoned with basil and garlic. We also used almost a 1/2 cup of chopped basil. Otherwise, we followed to recipe exactly and thought it was very good.

Bessy's Zesty Grilled Garlic-Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
We'd like to give this recipe 4.5 stars. It was simple to make and all the ingrediants we had on hand. We marindaded as the recipe called and it turned out very good. The chicken was very moist and had a great flavor. Will definitely marinade over night next time and then it would be a 5 star recipe for sure! Thanks!

Chicken Piccata with Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
Really loved this recipe. We doubled everything for the sauce except the lemon and it was enough for the pasta but the lemon wasn't too overpowering. Would definately make this again. It was as east meal!
