About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom and have been married for 16 years and have a wonderful daughter. We live on a small farm and I have a garden and do my own canning. Times does get hectic with the garden and mowing and tending to our other properties but we always manage to get it done.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy just about anyting. I like to make pastries, cakes, pies, and all the fattening foods. I like to decorate cakes and make my own bread. I have holiday family dinners and we always eat our meals together. I like canning and making my own pickles. Summer time is always the best with fresh produce right out of the garden. And then the winter months we enjoy what I have canned in the summer.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking for other people. Our family gatherings in the summer and Holidays. I used to have Open House at Christmas for our employees, neighbors, and friends. It has been several years since I have done that and I miss preparing, decorating, flower arranging and the organization of pulling everything together and watching people enjoy.
My cooking triumphs
I make the best pie crust because when I was in High School my home ec teacher had me make her pies all the time for her parties. My brothers and father keep telling me I have missed my calling to open a store of my own. I learned most of my cooking because at age 11 I started preparing all meals while my mother and father worked. I do not resent that to this day because that is where I got my experience and my drive.
My cooking tragedies
I guess this would be the time my brother and I passed a peasant off as roast chicken because my mother will not eat peasant. My brother shot and defeathered and I prepared the peasant. When mom came home I told her I roasted a chicken. We almost got away with it until she bite a piece and had a piece of buck shot with it. Need I say more. We still laugh at that till this day.

Robbi's M&M Cookies
I went with the other suggestions and used part butter and part shortening. I used more butter than shortening. Turned out very good and did not spead alot like others said. Will be making again.

Baked Pork Chops I
Extremely yummy, did not use cooking wine and used chicken cream soup. This would be good with chicken breast and you could also put thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom before adding pork chops.
