About this Cook
I'm a social worker from Pennsylvania. I've loved to cook since I was about 7 or 8. I also do community theatre and have performed in nearly thirty plays in my lifetime. I'm thirty years old.
My favorite things to cook
I'm a baker. It's in my blood. My great-grandfather on my maternal side was a baker.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes the best cookies at Christmas time- whenever either of us bakes her iced sugar cookies for a party the plate is always clean by the time we have to leave. We've learned to keep a few at home.
My cooking triumphs
I'm known for my baking- I tend to dress up box mixes for cakes with homemade frostings. I'm usually too busy to make cake from scratch, but I can't stand the frosting in a can. People especially love my homemade buttercream, which I've noticed has no duplicates posted on All Recipes. I guess I'll have to consider sharing it with the world.
My cooking tragedies
I've noticed that I have to be in a zen state when I cook- if I'm not happily creating that is when recipes and experiments become disasters. I guess it only proves that the best recipes truly are made with love.

Best Brownies
The brownie batter is amazing, the frosting needs a little doctoring up.

Easy Creamy Vanilla Fudge
The consistency was just fine. Take your time, cook slowly on low heat, and use real butter. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if it looks thin you add a little more sugar too thick- add more cream/ milk. It does, however, need more flavor, and the color is bright-white, not like the picture. This is a great versatile base that allows you to add different flavors (peanut butter, coconut, brown sugar. maple, peppermint...). You can go wild with your own creativity.
