Deee-lish! While the butter was melting, I added fresh garlic (4 cloves) before I added the flour. Also, used a brick of cream cheese instead of the velveeta. Definitely takes longer to prepare than stated, but worth it. Next time, I'd use my slicer and slice the potatoes before microwaving them. In fact, I think I'd make them from raw next time. Easier to slice and then just bake as they tend to fall apart and not keep the 'scalloped' look if done in the microwave that way. Even my hubby liked these and he's not a potato fan. Bacon always helps. From scratch, just bake an hour like you usually do. Yummmy.
