Great recipe!! Thanks! My only changes were proofing the yeast first in 1 cup warm water with a tablespoon of honey. Perfect texture and flavor! This is a keeper!!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
I just made these and they are great! Nice thing is that they mix up easily without a lot of mess. The amount of mini muffins I got was 24... perfectly! Next time I might go lighter on the final step without using as much margarine & sugar.. maybe just a little and I would like to try them with powdered sugar instead. Great base recipe though!!

Very tasty!! I made these today and this one is a keeper. Next time though, I will roll out the dough a little thinner and maybe make a glaze.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
I made these twice already and they are fantastic!! I peeled the zucchini first and squeezed out the liquid once it was shredded. I made a little tarter sauce to serve with them also.

Excellent!!!! I made this twice already (within a week), but half the recipe each time. Instead of raisins I used fresh cherries.. and butter instead of margarine. This is definitely a keeper!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
Thank you for a fantastic recipe!! I made a half batch, and added a little bit of lemon zest to the dough. I also flattened them with a sugar dipped fork. They came out really nice, ...slightly crisp... perfect!! I'm going to get myself another one (or two) right now! :)

Made them twice! Really good turnovers & easy to make.. I almost burned them the first time though, so they really have to be watched.

I thought it came out great! I will make this again soon! I used fresh garlic instead of garlic salt, a little bay seasoning and lemon juice.

Pumpkin Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
I just found this recipe a few days ago and made it twice already!! I only made 1/2 the original servings though. It came out to one perfect sized loaf (twice). I made a few changes.. the amount of flour it called for.. 1 3/4 cups all purpose, I reduced that to 1 cup and added 3/4 cup whole wheat flour. Instead of pumpkin pie spice I used equal parts of clove and nutmeg. I reduced white sugar to 1 cup instead of 1 1/2. I added a good drizzle of pure maple syrup. I left out the nuts. This was such a good, flavorful, moist bread. It is a keeper & I'll be making it again & again.. very easy too!!!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Did not like consistency (as someone else said earlier.. "like pre-chewed cake") and they were way too sweet. I won't be making these again.

Wonderful Fried Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
I have used this recipe many times since finding it here. You have to adjust spices to your liking, but the easiest part is remembering that beer to flour ratio is about equal parts. Dry your fish with paper towels and dredge in flour first before the batter.. fries up very nicely! I make a tarter sauce with mayo, pickle relish (sweet), lemon or lime juice, cayenne pepper & cumin. This is awesome!! I've been on a fish kick since finding it.. I'm ready for some more soon. Cod or Haddock are great..

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Fantastic recipe!! I usually do only drop-cookies.. never made a rolled cookie before but gave it a shot & they turned out excellent! The dough was easy to work with (made a few hours in advance & chilled).. I rolled small portions at a time & cut them out with a star shaped cookie cutter ..actually, the only one I had:) Once they baked & cooled, I used Royal Icing (also from this site), dipped the tops & then sprinkled red & green colored sugars. I will definitely make these again (after I buy more cookie cutter shapes!!) Thanks!
