I like things that are both hot and sweet and also just plain old hot stuff. This usually translates into Caribbean and Creole styles.

My family loves onions and garlic, and we stuff them into every sort of meat available.

I finally learned how to cook rice in a pot (v. a rice cooker). It was a long time ago, kids.

Best Brownies
Perfect! I love a brownie that is neither cakey nor fudgey, and this was it. I used stone ground whole wheat flour and evaporated cane sugar, and I skipped out on the frosting. And, I made sure not to over mix or overbake and to lightly beat the eggs first. My husband enjoyed it, which is awesome given that he was not even excited about the brownie dessert option. Thanks!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry
I really enjoyed this dish! I followed the directions with the following exceptions: i didn't measure the salt/spike or cayenne i used; i used red potatoes (6 cups diced/about 15 small ones), small red onion, light coconut milk, 3 tbsp olive oil, and crushed tomatoes. It produced 11 servings, each one with 257 calories, 6 grams fat, 8 grams protein, and 5 grams fiber. thanks!

Carrot Rice Nut Burger
my husband and i enjoyed this recipe. i had to change the specs, though, because i didn't need 20 patties. i used 2 cups of cooked rice leftover from a lebanese dish we had bought, 1/2 cup cashews, 1/4c sunflower seeds, 1/4 medium onion, and about 12 baby carrots (abt 5 oz.) i followed the directions as given and put the 4 1/2 patties on my george foreman grill. i think next time, i would just add more onions and salt. overall, great alternative to the bean and meat burgers. thanks!
