About this Cook
College student, just recently married! Am looking to increase my cooking skills beyond instant mac and cheese, lasagna, or canned soup *lol* I'm not a good cook, but boy can I bake!
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, any kind of DESSERT, thick hearty stews,
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking desserts and my brothers fighting over who got the spatula and who got the bowl when I was done! My younger brother making pumpkin pies (he is the pie master in our family) for Thanksgiving!
My cooking triumphs
I made my first non-recipe cooking attempt when I was 9... there wasn't a batch of peppermint ice cream left in all the stores and I wanted some! So I thawed a gallon of vanilla ice cream on the stove to "Frosty" consistancy, bashed a bag full of candycanes with a hammer, and mixed them in. Refroze it, sprinkled some extra peppermint bits on the top and called it a day!
My cooking tragedies
A homemade soup... I tried to slow cook because I didn't have a large pot. Did not turn out so good.

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie
A little bitter, I think using Hershey's chocolate chips might make it less so. Still a wonderful recipe, I even top mine with shredded coconut. Very rich!

Rustic Autumn Fruit Tart
One of my all-time favorite recipes; don't even need a pie pan! I like to add walnuts and top with extra cinnamon right before I pop it in the oven.
