My favorite things to cook
Not a baker, that's too scientific and exact for me!!! I love making stick to the ribs type stews, sauces and soups. I also like to use different kinds of pulses and grains, both as main and side dishes.

New Orleans Shrimp
Very good indeed. Only changes: I used week chicken stock, because fish stock cubes aren't available in my neckadawoods, and the shrimp I used were frozen-shelled, so I couldn't make stock with the shells. I also upped the butter to 1/4 cup to match the flour, because the proportions in the recipe seemed odd to me. Served it on steamed white rice. Very nice meal.

Thai Curry Tofu
Excellent! However, not having seasoned salt in the house, and only using it on salads anyway when I do, and not in cooking, I used 1.5 teaspoons 5 spice. Portions are small ones, even when served on noodles or rice (I did noodles). But I guess we are better off that way...

German Chocolate Cake I
Fantastic!!!! We don't have German's baking chocolate here, so I took a tip from a substitutions site and added 1/2 Tablespoon sugar to each ounce of the semi-sweet chocolate that I used. I also needed a little more cream to make the topping spreadable.
