Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2013
We had this for dinner last night. WOW!! We all felt it was restaurant quality flavors! Excellent recipe! Only changes we made were very minor. We had to add a little cornstarch to the sauce, to get it to thicken, and we put some pepper on the meat after we put the dijon mustard on it. Other than that, it was done exactly as directed. It is not a hard recipe to do, which is another plus! We will most definitely be making this recipe again! Kudos to KOALAGIRL for sharing it with all of us!

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
Very good flavor. My husband is the pie baker in the family, so he actually baked the pie. Don't do what we did though. We purchased the rhubarb in advance, and froze it. Was a little mushy. Will be making it again, only not freezing the rhubarb the next time!

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
Just made this last night. Cheers all around. I prefer pounding the chicken down, as opposed to butterflying the chicken. We ended up using about 1/2 the cream cheese, and will use 1/2 cup melted butter in the future. Really good flavor here! A definite winner!

Pumpkin Pie Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
Made this for Thanksgiving dessert, and loved it, and so did everyone else. We made the recipe exactly as listed, except for using a spice cake mix. Topped with whip cream. Will definitely be making this again!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
A hit on Thanksgiving, however my family kept asking what the purpose of putting them in the crock pot was for, and then they kept talking about another mashed potato recipe I make that they liked better. I thought they were good, but I kind of agree, and the other recipe is better.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
This looks like a great recipe, one my husband really wanted to try. We don't doubt the many folks who made this recipe with great success, but we did not have success, even after trying it twice. We have come to the conclusion that living in high altitude, along with the fact that this is our dry season, is what is causing my husband to have so much trouble with pie crusts this time of year. They just turn into crumbly balls, and you cannot work with them. It seems when he makes them in summer, which is rare, he doesn't have the troubles he does in the winter.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
I just made this recipe to go over a carrot cake my son and I made today. It is the perfect cream cheese frosting. We do not like our frosting too sweet; we really prefer the taste of the cream cheese to come through. Will definitely make this recipe again!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
We made this last night, and it was a real hit. I ended up having to quadruple the spices to put on 4 chicken breasts, and also added 1/3 cup chicken stock at the end. Only problem was that it was too salty. In the future, I will add the chicken stock, and cut back on the salt. Also, while I quadrupled the spices, I did not do that with the cayenne. I think it would've been too spicy then. I thought the heat was just right. Will definitely be making this again!

Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
We loved this recipe. The flavors were fantastic! We cut down on the water, and doubled the spices as other have, and found it to be just right. We will definitely be making this again, no doubt about it!

Baked Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
Had been promising our 18 year old son I would make him 'real' mashed potatoes for some time. When I saw this recipe, I just knew it would be a hit, and it was! The flavors are perfect, and I'm thinking about making it again for Bible study in just a few days. I know they will love it as much as we did. Love that you can make it the day before, and bake it the following day. So it is convenient, tastes good, and not too difficult to make! Who doesn't love a recipe like that?!

Washboard Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
Recently, I was looking for a new cookie recipe, and came across this one. I was excited in part, because of the reviews, and in part, because I had all the ingredients. I baked two batches, 1 adding pumpkin pie spice, and the other, adding cinnamon. While they didn't taste awful, they didn't taste really great. After spending that much time baking, you want them to be really good. I mostly bake for my husband and son, so they will have cookies in their lunches when they go to work. They both said the same thing - "O.K., but nothing really special."

We really enjoyed this recipe. I love that it uses ingredients that we usually have around the house, so it makes it simple, as well as good! We really enjoyed it!

Polish Meat and Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Would give this one more than 5 stars if I could! We did start by browning the kielbasa, then adding the potatoes, etc. We also added some shredded cheddar cheese at the end, and let it melt. This was a fantastic meal! Thanks!

Slow-Cooked Short Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Made these yesterday with some buffalo short ribs we were given a while back. WOW! Thanks SO much for this recipe! We did change out the chili sauce for Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, and we didn't brown the ribs. Other than that, we followed the recipe, and the three of us (hubby, 18 yr. old son and myself), loved them! Gonna get some more ribs pretty soon, and make this recipe again! Thanks again!

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
Wish I could give this recipe more than 5 stars! I had thawed out my hamburger, planning on having a family favorite recipe, and then realized that I was missing an ingredient.. It wasn't too long before my husband would be home, and I had a really hungry 18 year old, who had also just come home from work. What to do?! I got on Allrecipes web site, and found this recipe, and I had all the ingredients! Everyone was agreeable, and so away we went! The only changes I made, were to tear up a tortilla and put it at the bottom, then put 1/2 the meat. I only had a 28 oz. can of refried beans, and I used nearly the whole can. I put a layer of beans, then the salsa. I got 2 layers in my dish, and topped it with a mixture of cheddar and mozz. We loved it! My son went back for seconds, and he took more on the 2nd time than he did the first! My husband at his, and then ate what I couldn't eat. Our son is taking all of the leftovers to work today. This is definitely a keeper, and thank you to whoever posted this recipe! You saved my bacon, so to speak, and we really love it, and will be making it again soon!

Oven Fried Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
We had this recipe last night for dinner. Our 18 year old son dove into it, and immediately said he loved it! My husband said he really liked it too! I thought it was just the right balance of crispy, with the meat being very tender and juicy. Thanks, this is a great recipe, and as our son put it best, "That was great Mom, I loved it!" And only left a bare bone, and a few crumbs on his plate!

This recipe was absolutely fun, and delicious! We will definitely be making this one again! I was even able to make it fit into my Weight Watcher's Online daily points! And, to top it all off, my family loved it too! It just doesn't get any better than this! Thank you to whoever sent this one in!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
This just didn't work well for us. It was kind of dry. Our chicken didn't turn out nice and golden brown, like in the picture. We wondered if perhaps living in high altitude had anything to do with it, because we have had this kind of thing happen before. I really wanted to like this chicken, but it just didn't work for any of us.

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
I wanted to like this recipe; it sounded SO good. We live at high altitude, and because of that, it seems whenever we bake pork chops, they are DRY! I even tried lightly browning these first, then doing everything exactly as the recipe says, and my chops were still dry. They were thick, boneless pork chops, and I baked them at 350 for 30 minutes. Once I figure out how to bake my pork chops without drying them, I will try this recipe again.
