Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
The family just got a new bread machine, and being new daughter in law, I wanted to impress. I never used a bread machine for real before, and it worked out beatuifully! But of course I added my own twist. Instead of the 2T of sugar, I added 1T of sugar and alittle more than a 1T of honey. And I replaced the oil with butter, and added a 1T of extra butter, so, 5T of butter. It came out so nice and soft and delicate! My inlaws were raving!! butter is always better! :)

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
Thank you Karena for a great recipe! You're right about its popularity! This recipe makes a ton! The only things i might change are: Less red onion or use a sweeter variety like a peruvian red or vadalia or even to switch it up, green onion in place of it. I used bread and butter pickles, and 3/4 of the mayo called for. If anyone doesnt like the acrid taste of the onion, but still wants to include it, just chop it coarsly like the recipe but before adding to all the ingredients put in a bowl with a fat pinch of salt, stir and let it sit for 15-30mins, then rinse and taste then add to the salad.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Very good! thank you for the great recipe! :) I had never made pot roast in the oven and i hoped it would turn out okay.. this was also my husband's first time having me make it... we usually stick with ground beef and chicken breasts, so a chage was due! Normally I'm used to tomatoes being added to pot roast, but this is a good tomato-less recipe. I'm sure that a can of stewed toms would be great if someone added them to this recipe. I also used garlic pieces on top of the roast, and garlic powder, and a bit of lawrys seasoning salt. Also, after browning off the meat in the pan, I deglazed with white zinfandel, then added the rest of the ingredients.. I entertained and everyone was very happy with it! (including the skeptical husband... :) ) I had a tiny 1.65lb and roasted for 4hrs @ 325... I need a crockpot like my Mom!

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
very tender fluffy rolls! Love seeing them bake up all toasty and golden in the oven! thanks for a great recipe! Like others, I halved the recipe, but I ended up using the whole packet of yeast. I still have another batch to bake! The only thing i would change for next time is add maybe half a tsp more salt to the dough, and use some nice yukon gold potatoes to add a rich color to the crescents.

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
Very good. Thank you Angie. I had my husband push the dough down a couple of times while I was out shopping... The first rise did seem a bit slower like other people said... I think I waited too long to bake them since they were a tiny bit sour from them fermenting basically all day.. Oops.... Next time I will push down once and then proof and bake. Or refrigerate until I am ready...Overall I think the rolls were great and I did add 1/2 tsp more salt and it was good like that... Nothin worse than flat tasting bread! Also I baked in glass @ 375 for about 15 mins.. Don't over bake these!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
This was simply outstanding. I have made many cinnamon rolls from this website and none are as soft and fast as these! Thank you so much! The only thing I would recommend is adding a bit of corn syrup or honey to the sugar and butter mixture because it still was a bit grainy. . But maybe that was just my oven since it runs alittle cold. Don't over bake these and for me a 9x13 is the best way to bake. Well worth it for Sunday after dinner dessert! My husband and I could not stop eating them! Thank you : )

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I had a cassorole dish that fit most of the buns, so I put the rest in metal pans. The ones in the metal burned, and the ones in the glass came out perfect.... hmmm. I've heard that metal gets hotter quicker, and 375 is just too hot. 350 for metal would have been better. Overly caramelized.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
it seemed like it needed more sugar?? maybe not since some people like pancakes swimming in syrup.. maybe half a TBS more? They came out nice, but maybe more milk to thin the recipe since everyone was saying that it was mushy in the center.. that would probably solve the problem.. and the pan/griddle might have been too hot.. I should have added vanilla extract.. but it was too late.. next time.. So instead of making banana bread with the old bananas, make pancakes! Served with walnuts and this would be banging! Thanks for the recipe
