Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms
Yum! I did make some improvements: - put the mushrooms in the oven, stem side down, for ten minutes in a pan w/ a rack on the bottom. This allowed my mushrooms to release some of their water. I hate stuffed mushrooms that are watery. - added about 1/4 lb of well chopped hot Italian sausage to the mix. - took 1/4 cup of panko crumbs and browned them in a pan w/ about 2 tsp butter and 1 tsp of the sausage drippings. I sprinkled these on top, then threw on some parmesan. I used shaved parmesan for more substance (larger pieces). My husband said they were the best he's ever had, anywhere.
