Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
Made this stew because it only has the tomato paste in it and not cans of tomatoes. Thought it would work for my mom who has to watch her acid intake. Turned out great! Will definitely make again, another great recipe for my recipe box.

Best Cream Of Broccoli and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
I made this for my 90 year old mom because she likes cream of broccoli soup. I always said "I don't care for creamed soups" but this one has changed that statement. I really enjoyed this soup and my mom loved it! So glad I tried it, now I have another great soup to add to my recipe box.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2013
Followed the recipe as written even though I had my doubts when I made this the first time last week. I wasn't sure about the combination of maple syrup and soy sauce. I was very happy with the outcome; this salmon is not only very good, it is so easy & quick to make. I marinated the salmon in a glass pie plate and then just put the plate with the fish and marinade in the oven making for a easy clean up also. Even my mom who always claims she does not like salmon had two helpings and finished the leftovers the next day! It was perfect for both of us. This recipe will deffinately be a regular for us, especailly on Friday's during Lent

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
When preparing a dish for the first time I always follow the recipe as written, otherwise how can you honestly rate it. If you change ingredients, it then is not the same recipe. I have never made potato soup until the other day when I made this one (as written) and I was very happy with the outcome. It is a keeper. It's a great base recipe that you can easily make it to your own taste by changing or adding a few ingredients to your liking. I will be making it again to share with family and friends.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
I followed the recipe as written and I couldn't have asked for a better result. Usually I will make the recipe once as written and then the next time adjust it a little to experiment to see if I can make it more to my liking/ taste. I will not do that with this one..it's perfect as is...definately a keeper. My friend does not like blueberries but loved this blueberry buckle.

Neapolitan Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Easy to make & a light crispy coookie ( my favorite kind). I always try to make the recipe as written the first time before tweeking it to my tastes but I made these for the first time yesterday with a couple changes. I didn't have any almond extract but had some Raspberry oil on hand and mixed a few drops in the pink layer. Wasn't sure how oil would work once baked as opposed to extract. The chocolate layer I only had Ghiradelli Semi-Sweet chocolate on hand so I used 1 1/2 - 2 oz of chocolate instead of the 1 oz. of unsweetened. I couldn't have been more pleased with the out come. Great recipe that you can work with to create may different variations. Will definately keep on my MUST MAKE Christmas cookie list.

Pork Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Made this the other night. I thought it was great, especially since this was my first attempt at making a marsala dish. My friend did not care for it, so I am rating it 4 stars. I took the advice of other reviewers and used half wine and half chicken broth, loaded up on the mushrooms and added a bit of sliced onion. I would feel confident in serving this for company.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
TMy friend & brother love this casserole. I plan on serving this for dinner tomorrow for my brothers birthday ( his request) and I was wondering if the casserole can be totaly put together (rice & all) the day before baking without affecting the texture of the rice.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
This cake is perfectly moist and sweet for my taste. I have made this cake several times. It has become a tradition to make it for our New Years Eve family gathering. I still have problems with the glaze getting a grainy texture. Next time will try adding the Irish Cream slowly to the glaze as recommened by other reviewers.
