Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
I second tossing the beef cubes with some flour and then browning. This negated the need for the cornstarch (tastes not so good anyways) while still having a lovely, not runny at all, gravy. I also highly recommend adding a couple bay leaves with the other seasonings. We love adding other root veg as well, specifically cubed turnip or rutabaga. Yummmm!

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
Good recipe. Becomes GREAT when you toast your coconut in the oven as it is preheating (just till 50% or so is a nice golden hue) and use less sugar. If you have an oven that runs hotter or tends to be less consistent (like mine) just reduce the heat and cook a bit longer, these cookies turn out great either way :) Also, 1 1/2 cups of choc chips is PLENTY as this is a pretty sweet cookie.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
Went with the the other reviewers suggestion of turkey for the meatballs and adding more carrot. Worth the extra time it took to brown and cook the meatballs, added more flavor and less fatty. Also precooked the noodles as I wasn't in a rush. Tastier the next day! Thanks for the recipe and the helpful reviews!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
Tasty! I didn't have yellow mustard but dijon worked fine. Added some paprika and red pepper flakes but recipe is good as is. With a leafy salad this makes a good quick meal. Thanks!
