I first made this recipe last week, and I followed the recipe exactly. It was ok, but it just tasted like plain french toast, nothing special so not really worth the effort. Also, I made this in an 8x8 like the recipe says to, and it bubbled over and made a mess! So I decided to make it again and put spin on it. I used 4 cinnamon raisin bagels, chopped into about 1/2 inch pieces. This time I used a 9x13 and it worked much better. I sprinkle the top with 1 TB each of butter and brown sugar. It had a nice sweetness to it and I almost didn't even need syrup. This is the way I will be making my casserole from now on!
