Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
I tried this recipe last night, and I have to say I was very disappointed. After finding this recipe and how well it was rated, I thought would be a hit. Unfortunately, it just tasted like onions. Nothing else, just bland, with over whelming onion flavor. No one ate the serving they took. I gave this 2 stars because the cheese sauce was easy to make and tasted "okay." If I ever make this again I will not be using a whole onion, thats for sure, and it needs a lot of doctoring up in the flavor department.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
I first made this recipe last week, and I followed the recipe exactly. It was ok, but it just tasted like plain french toast, nothing special so not really worth the effort. Also, I made this in an 8x8 like the recipe says to, and it bubbled over and made a mess! So I decided to make it again and put spin on it. I used 4 cinnamon raisin bagels, chopped into about 1/2 inch pieces. This time I used a 9x13 and it worked much better. I sprinkle the top with 1 TB each of butter and brown sugar. It had a nice sweetness to it and I almost didn't even need syrup. This is the way I will be making my casserole from now on!

Orange Raisin Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
I made these exatly as the recipe is written, the only exception is that I didn't have an orange to zest. These are not very good. They taste like slightly sweetened white bread with raisins, they do not have a muffin texture at all. I will not be making these again, sorry.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
I made these muffins this morning because I had some bananas I needed to use. I thought they turned out great! I didn't have any walnuts on hand, but they would be even better with the nuts. The only change I made was using canola oil instead of vegetable oil because thats what I had. I was a little weary about how these would turn out based on everyones reviews, but I thought they were very easy to make, and taste pretty good. Oh, and I too only baked them 20 minutes, glad I checked them, 30 minutes and they would have been burnt!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
Delicious! I give it 4 stars as written. I made a few changes. Instead of 2 lbs of beef, I used 1 lb beef and 1 lb ground sausage, I used V8 instead of plain tomato juice, I also added 1 can of mushrooms and a small can of green chilis. I left out the green pepper because I didn't have one on hand, and I didn't use onion because my boyfriend doesn't like them. I just got this in my slow cooker and tasted it cold and it was great, so I know it will be even better tonight! Yum!

I followed the recipe exactly, and it did not thicken up at all! Just looked like I poured milk over rice.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
These were so good! I'm only giving it 4 stars because I did make some changes based off other reviews. To save time I got a rotisserie chicken and shredded the meat instead of cubed. Also the reserved sauce for the top, instead of adding milk, I added enchilada sauce. Served with sour cream and green onions, yummy!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I made his rice exactly as the recipe says to, and it came out very very bland. It didn't taste like anything. I think next time I'd be better off making white rice with some salsa added to it, it would have more flavor than this!

General Tao Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
This was amazing! Tasted just like take out! It took a lot of work to make though. I think next time I'll just use a boxed breading instead of messing with the cornstarch and flour. The sauce is what makes this tho! I added a pinch more sugar and topped with sesame seeds, yum!

Campbell's Kitchen Beef Teriyaki

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
This was fantastic! I made it exactly as the recipe states and it was delicious, my boyfiend just raved about it. This will definately be a staple in our house! I bought some frozen egg rolls to go along side with this and it was a great dinner, and way cheaper than take out!

My Favorite Sesame Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I'll start off by saying I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter, but this was still really good. I gave the recipe 4 stars as is but if you add a stir fry veggie mix its 5 stars! I even thought some shrimp would have been good with this too. DO NOT skip the sesame oil, it really defines the sauce! I used whole wheat linguini and my stir fry mix had carrots, snow peas, water chesnuts, mushrooms, edamame, and red peppers, delicious! Even my super picky boyfriend liked it!

Easy Corn Chowder I

I love this recipe! Sometimes I make some roux to add to this, it's a bit thin for a chowder. I also add some red pepper flakes for a little warmth, yummy!
