I am a pretty diverse person. I love to cook and sing! I currently live in Northern Oklahoma but have also lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, and Florida. I've learned something new about cooking EVERYWHERE I've lived. I am a manager of a homeless shelter and owner of a karaoke company. I have an awesome fiance that somedays I swear sticks around just for the food! LOL An adorable furbaby pug named Pixie and two turtles. I would love to be able to travel more. I haven't been cooking as much as I would like over the last year or so due to some health problems but am trying to get myself back on track! I am 34 years young and would love to meet more cooks that have great easy peasy healthy meal ideas since I am forever trying to incorporate more healthy foods into our menu.
My favorite things to cook
Some of my favorite things to make are appetizers! Quick, simple, and delish! I am a cream cheese addict so I am always finding new ways to add it into my recipes and almost always have 4 or 5 boxes in the fridge. I am also a crockpot cooker! I have 3 crockpots right now but sadly am going to have to replace one because it is about to the end of its life! I love easy italian, mexican, and southern foods. I would love to find new ingredients to use.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I definitely do NOT come from a cooking family. My mom is a hit or miss cook. Either its amazing or its awful! I grew up in a meat and potatoes family with not much imagination in the kitchen. This is something I am revamping in my cooking!
My cooking triumphs
Not much for cooking triumps as much as just having REALLY good luck using recipes as a guide and making them work for me. The closest I come to a triump was at the wonderful age of 8 I realized I could make the best peanut butter cookies by using 1 egg, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of peanut butter and nothing else. Now I refuse to make any other unless its simply adding nuts or chocolate chips to that basic dough!
My cooking tragedies
No cooking is a tragedy... just a lesson learned of what NOT to do!
