Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
This bread was a big hit at our thanksgiving day festivities. I followed the recipe exactly but cooked it in a bundt cake pan and a small loaf pan - turned out great!

Did not turn out at all like the dutch baby pancakes I have had in Seattle!

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Family loved it - the mustard mix smelled so strong they were worried, but it tasted just right! I followed the recipe, but did flour the sole fillets first to help the topping stick. Sole is expensive, so it was great to find it on sale - this recipe is a keeper.

Hearty Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
We loved it! I totally forgot about the hot milk, that might make it even yummier. I used 4 cups low sodium chicken broth (I have an organic type that is really tasty) and about another cup of water - and skipped the salt. I bought a smoked ham bone from the grocery store and threw that in - that created a very strong smokey flavor that the guys really liked. I will definately make this again - recommend you try a smoked hambone, much better flavor then ordinary ham.

Whit's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Pretty good. We like the flavor that the cream cheese and heavy cream added, but thought it wasn't quite spicey enough.

Hearty Multigrain Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This is amazingly good bread! I didn't have millet or Quinoa, so I substituted some poppyseed and 7 grain cereal. It turned out just perfect as a double recipe, using the 2 pound whole wheat, light crust setting on the bread maker. When you double the recipe, it calls for too much yeast - so check that. Will definately make again.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Delicious! Served it as dessert for a small dinner party and everyone loved this cake. Will absolutely make this again. I did use slightly less choc chips then the recipe called for, but otherwise followed the recipe. yummmmy

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Very good - our guests really enjoyed it. I didn't have enough basalmic vinegar to keep the proportions the same, but still very good

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Moist and tasty - I followed the recipe pretty much exactly except I mashed the bananas. I feel that it could have used some cinnamon or other spices.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Excellent basic white bread recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I do weigh my flour (rather then measure with a cup) as that seems to give me more consistent results. If you want to try a basic white bread - this one is a great choice.

Crusty Potato Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Delicious, but not very much potato flavor. We will definately make this again but it does not surpass Orowheat storebought potato dinner rolls so I gave it a 4 star. I checked the consistency during the kneading cycle and had to add 1 tbls of water.... I think that it depends on how you measure and on the humidity whether the water amount is correct. The loaf came out beautiful, rose and baked perfectly.

Amish Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Very good - was a hit at our new years day party especially with people who like soft white bread. It is not quite as sweet as Hawaiian bread, but it is sweet so probably not something I would make every day. I made it in the Breadman Pro.

Cranberry Oat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Outstanding! Made this with my new Breadman Pro for guests and they all loved it. I didn't have honey, so had to substitute brown sugar. I also put in extra Craisins and some chopped pecans... just because it sounded good. It was delicious - next time I will try the honey, but I highly recomend using 1/2 - 2/3 cups of Craisins if you love them
