Mary Wynne's Crabapple Jelly

It took forever, probably because I strained mine three times each batch, but it was worth it. Consistency was different with each batch... first time jelly-maker here, so who knows what I did wrong! I thought I'd like the thicker jelly, but the runny stuff ended up yummier. A great recipe and fairly easy to follow for a first-timer.

Acorn Squash

I cooked them in the microwave first (cut in half, cut side down in about 1/2 water) and then broiled them with the sugar and butter inside. Turned out wonderfully (and a ton faster than original recipe). Delicious.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Just needs some veggies (I use frozen peas and carrots, and corn) and it's perfection. Oh, and I pre-bake my cut up canned biscuits at 365 deg. for about 12 minutes and then add them to the slow cooker for about 10 minutes so they're not completely soggy.

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

I brined my turkey overnight first so used barely any salt or pepper and it turned out DELICIOUS and juicy. Everyone at Thanksgiving dinner said I was the new official turkey maker.

Amish Bread

THE BEST BREAD RECIPE EVER! I make it in the bread machine or just do the dough cycle and make rolls in the oven. Everyone loves this recipe, even the health nuts in the fam who only eat wheat.

Jasmine Rice Pudding with Toasted Coconut

Boiled over inside my brand-new rice cooker and it hasn't worked the same since. Not sure if it would have tasted good since the batch was ruined... that's what the second star is for, just in case it would have tasted good.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Scrum-dibbily-umpsious! I over-fried them at first because they floated from the beginning and I wasn't sure how long to leave them in there. I just went by color after the first few and they turned out better. The glaze was wonderful. I coated some with coco powder and some with powdered sugar. Nothing tasted better than the glaze from the recipe.

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Perfect combination of creamy and crunchy. Didn't have to change anything to make it great. But keep in mind that it doesn't keep well as left-overs...the topping gets soggy, though, it's unlikely you'll have any left-overs!
