Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
I liked the fruitiness, but the crusty part was way to chewy and not very flavorful.

Sausage Pasta

Oh wow, SO GOOD!! I made it lighter with turkey sausage, used one can of tomatoes with basil and garlic and used a 6 oz pkg of fresh spinach. Topped with a little garlic salt and italian cheese.

Meatloaf Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This was pretty good, but I liked the idea more than I liked the intial, out-of-the-oven flavor. Was better as a left-over once the flavors mingled.

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
THis is very, very good! I like the little crispy things at the restaurant to put in it, so I crumbled up some Tostitos corn chips and it made it even better. Made twice already!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Disappointing! Made these according to recipe but not very sweet. The texture was excellent but the taste was boring. My kids didn't even really like them.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
They're pretty good. I also did not soften the butter. I guess I just hoped they would be a little sweeter.

Aunty Pasto's Seafood Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I made a couple of small changes. I completely omitted the wine, and dried the water off the lasagna noodles before layering them in the pan. I also used neufchatel cheese instead of cream cheese for the lower fat content and 15 oz. of ricotta instead of the cottage cheese. My son loved this, and the rest of us thought it was very good.

Gooey Butter Cookies

These were pretty good. Loved the softness. They were better after a day or two since the flavors seemed to mingle better.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
I am not a big potato soup fan, and I just tried this one because it sounded so unusual. I had never bought a leek before in my life and had to look up online which parts were usable! I ended up using the white part plus about two inches of green (after removing the very outer green layer). I also was worried about so much dill but this recipe is INCREDIBLE!! One of the best I've ever tried on this site! I used sliced baby portabello mushrooms instead of button. Wow, this one's a keeper!!

Lengua (Beef Tongue)

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
It certainly took a long time to brine, but this was an excellent recipe and we all loved it! It's so tender! The only change I made was to decrease it to 2 jalapenos so the kids would eat it.

This was okay, but I felt like it was a bit bland. We ate it, but it just wasn't anything special.

Green Chili Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
One of the best recipes I have gotten here! I did add a little more cumin and salt, in addition to an extra 1.5 cups of broth (I used chicken broth instead of water). Instead of the expensive pork loin I used the much cheaper pork shoulder roast and it was perfect! I love green chili stew and this was an excellent recipe! I'm wondering if just a little garlic salt next time would make it even better!

Practically perfection! Added a cup of raisins, would probably use a little more next time. These cookies were fabulous!
