Oatmeal Pancakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
My 7 and 5 year old boys liked them but everyone else felt they were heavy and plain tasting. If I make them again I will probably add cinnamon and raisins or blueberries. It would also be better with some vanilla I think.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
I love this as a basic pancake recipe. We use this recipe weekly using milk substitutes such as rice/soy/almond milk. We have used it with one additional egg for waffles, with wheat flour, with pieces of fruit, and chocolate chips. Family and guests always love the pancakes and they are nice texture.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
I followed this recipe as written and it worked well. I used on a devil foods cake then put a raspberry sauce over it. It was delicious. My kids were happy to lick the bowl out for me so was my husband.

Ham and Pineapple Dinner

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
This is one of our favorite meals to use leftover ham for. It tastes great. My kids love it as do my husband and I. Very rarely are there leftovers and if there are I have to hide them in the back of the fridge to get them. I make the recipe as it is written with the exception of butter (I use a little oil instead) and I use flour instead of cornstarch.

very good! My whole family loved these pancakes and they were a pretty quick alternative to waiting for bread to finish cooking. It was a nice breakfast.

Carrot Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
My husband and I liked the flavor and I was surprised that my kids enjoyed these at first. The kids ended up eating a whole patty each. I only gave a 4 as the they fell apart pretty easily. I plan on making these again and playing with the recipe a little to get them to hold together better.

Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
Great Taste! I didn't puree as we wanted chunks of raspberry in the sauce. We used this over chocolate glazed chocolate cake. We plan on using the left over sauce on waffles or ice cream.

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I followed the recipe as it is written except that I used soy milk instead of milk and margarine instead of butter. We have milk allergies in the home. The griddle cakes were great the frosting was a little too sweet. The griddle cakes are super sweet on their own and don't really need the frosting on top.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
This was great!!! My husband spent a couple of years in the Phillippines and has always wanted to have more rice dishes. I heard him talking about Adobo but had not been able to make it well. This recipe worked really well for us. I did follow the advice of other posters and added 1 Tbsp of peppercorns to the recipe and put a little less of the vinegar (white distilled). My husband and I loved it and the kids even finished what we gave them. The leftovers were just as good as the night of.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
My family loved these pancakes. They were filling but fluffy. We used almond milk instead of milk because of allergies. It was a great part of breakfast on a cold rainy day. We will be sure to have these again in the fall.

Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
We made them as cookies following the recipe except cooking it as cookies for about 15 minutes. We also made mini-cupcakes following the recipe and adding 2 eggs. We enjoyed both the mini-cupcakes and the cookies. We frosted some and left some plain and all were delicious. It was an easy tasty recipe. My 8 year old son made the cookies and my 9 year old daughter made the mini cupcakes. They used hand mixers as it was hard to stir the pumpkin into the cake mix without the mixer. We will be adding this to our kid friendly cooking.

Our family loved it. We shared with a neighbor and made another one for the next morning. We will definitely make it again. We followed the recipe except that we used almond milk in place of milk.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
My 5 year old son and I made these. The filling has good flavor and looks great. The crust is a little plain. It would be better with some lemon zest in it.

Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
Easy crust that flakes pretty well but doesn't have great flavor. We use this recipe often for sweet pies that have a lot of flavor but I am still looking for a better pie crust recipe for pot pies.

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Easy to make and they tasted great. My family was eating them as fast as they could and there were no left overs. We used soy milk because of allergies but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. We will definitely make them again during strawberry season. It was well worth the expense for strawberries in the winter though. We used maple syrup on some and cream and strawberries on others.
