Slow Cooker Bolognese

I thought this turned out really well. I would have given 5 stars but I changed a few things. I used a frozen mirepoix mix and threw it right in the crockpot, and I used 2% milk instead of cream because it was Christmas and that was what I had! My 2 year old and 5 yr. old ate it all.

Squash Medley

This was pretty good. I really liked the blend of seasonings and the texture of the crunchy bacon. I altered it just a little: I used more of all the seasonings, I used turkey bacon, a can of diced tomatoes in juice, but I drained a lot of the juice out. I also added a little fresh mozzarella on top for serving. It was a great summer meal served with a glass of white wine.

The Milky Way Martini

Well, I started making these for my friends but they were so good I pretty much drank all of them! It's like a dessert in a glass. You can't taste the alcohol at all, which makes them dangerous. I have now given this recipe to some friends and they agree that these are addicting!

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

This was simple and very good. I love things that are easy to make. The only I changed was adding more garlic because I love it. Someone suggested adding artichoke hearts or mushrooms, and using some wine. I will try those ideas next time to step it up for company. Thanks for the recipe!

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

Delicious! I never have problems with this like some of the other reviewers have had. I do use a little more flour than called for, and on occasion I add sour cream to form a custard, but otherwise it's great. It is even better the next day!

Creamed Corn

This was delish. The best creamed corn ever, and I really dislike creamed corn. I also put it in the oven to melt the cheese for about 10 minutes, at 350. It got rave reviews at our Thanksgiving preview party!

Cinnamon Sugar Crisps

These were very good, but I wanted them a little crunchier. I tried a batch for a little longer, but they were on the burnt side. They still tasted good. Next time I may stick to tortillas, but using wontons made that step so much faster!

Blue Cheese and Asparagus Pizza

This was very easy to make and surprisingly good. I wasn't sure how the flavors would mesh on a pizza, but my husband loved it. I did add crumbled turkey bacon for a little extra flavor.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

I followed another reviewer's idea and did not use my slow cooker. I cooked in lg. casserole dish for 40 minutes in oven at 375. I also used ground turkey and fat free versions of the soups, low carb tortillas and added a layer of fat free refried beans. It turned out great. It was great comfort food, my kitchen smelled lovely. Because I used the cheese as called for, I probably cancelled out the effects of the healthier substitutes, but I didn't notice the taste difference at all. You can't go wrong when you smother things in cheese!

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Holy cow! I almost ate the whole batch in one sitting. My kids and husband loved this. My batch was a little too sweet for me, so next time I will use green apples instead of red, but definitely a keeper. I can't wait to make this into a pie filling!

Tilapia Pitas

This was OK. I thought the sauce was overpowering and my husband didn't care for it. It needed something more. I did add sliced red bell pepper strips for added crunch, but I'm not sure I would make this again with the dressing. The fish was cooked perfectly. As a fish taco or wrap, maybe a drizzle of light sour cream or ranch dressing instead.

Mojito Fruit Salad

I love this salad! The dressing is the perfect compliment to all of the flavors. It's helpful when the season of fresh fruit is over to make the salad last longer. I didn't change anything except switch out cantaloupe with honeydew. I don't like cantaloupe. Next time I might include mango and raspberries as well to add even more flavors! Thanks!

This was awesome. So easy and delicious. I made it exactly the way the recipe called for. I think it's a great midday snack when you are trying to eat healthy, but with the addition of tofu it is very filling.

Grilled Adobo Pork Tenderloin Salad With Plums and Almonds

I thought the pork was perfectly seasoned, a nice mix of sweet and spicy. I would have like the plums to be a more dominant flavor, like in a plum sauce. I was expecting the flavor to be sweeter to cut the spice, but it wasn't enough. The flavor combo was good, though. If I make it again, I will use plum jam or plum sauce.

Cool Whipped Frosting

This was really tasty and creamy. I used chocolate instead, because I prefer it. I had a hard time getting the cake to not get in the frosting as I was spreading it, but i don't blame the recipe for that!

Buffalo Chicken Wing Soup

I thought this was a really clever, interesting recipe. I had no idea how it was going to turn out, but it was great. Easy to do, easy to adjust the amounts to make more for a party. I added a frozen mirepoix mix (carrot, celery, onion) and topped the bowls with some blue cheese crumbles. I think another great flavor may be a ranch dressing packet, I will try that next time. This is definitely a keeper!

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

This was excellent! Just what I was craving. I didn't have to change a thing. My husband loved it, and it was great leftover as well. Wait! I did change one little thing: instead of ground beef i used pieces of beef I buy in the store already cut up for stew. I just think stew needs beef chunks and not ground beef. I will make this again for sure.

Beer Dip II

I followed the other reviewers advice and added shredded cheese and green onions. I made this again for a St. Patrick's party and used Dubliner cheese and Guiness. I took it a step further and heated everything through in a crock pot on low. It was a good warm dip with beer bread. The flavors are strong, but everyone really liked it.
