Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
Perfect! I added pecans instead of walnuts... otherwise followed the recipe exactly except added the 1/2 tsp. of cream of tartar as recommended by another reviewer. A keeper for sure.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
Best ever! It helps to learn the techniques recommended, but even if you are a novice, this is an excellent recipe as long as you follow directions exactly. Wilderness brand pie filling is a delicious way to hide any cracks if they occur!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
Pretty good, but a little bland. Maybe a tsp. of grated lemon rind? Also, Next time I will make the topping with only 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar and put some in the center of each muffin and a little on top.

Mom's Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
I used no flour; breaded the chicken lightly with fine bread crumbs. Also; I did not use the wine, but added some 2 TB balsamic vinegar and a little water instead. Mine was a little sweet, but still very good. Next time I will try the wine.

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Left out the cinnamon and doubled the recipe. This is a very good basic waffle. Every waffle came out perfect, but I like a little extra crunch. Next time I will substitute a few TB whole wheat flour for a few TB white flour and add some chopped pecans. Thanks for submitting!

Mom's Pineapple-Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
Very tasty, but mine turned out more like carrot cake, very moist and crumbly. I left out the raisins.

Hearty Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
Left out cheese, butter and barley. Added 1 cup leftover chopped roasted chicken and leftover cooked lentils. Very fast and delicious this way, but I should have included the barley. Thanks for submitting this recipe!

Pasta With Tuna Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Thumbs up from Grandmama! Delicious recipe, especially for being flexible, cheap, fast and easy! I did not have capers, so added some chopped green olives. Also had to use more olive oil than stated. Thought it needed a bit more kick; next time I will add more garlic and some Italian herbs. Great with grated parmesan cheese. Gets tastier as it cools, as does puttanesca (hooker's pasta.)

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
Keeper! The way I did it: Sprinkled a little Cajun spice on top instead of the onion and garlic powder. Did not use the blue cheese dressing and it was still great. Thank you for submitting recipe.

Cranberry Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
These came out okay, but rather cake like. Next time I will add walnuts and maybe try substituting 1/4 cup whole wheat flour for some of the white flour. All in all, not bad!

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Love these!!! Excellent recipe and versatile, too! They are great as is, but better to drain zucchini. I add 1/4 cup chopped green pepper and 1 tsp. minced garlic, then cook in olive oil. I made a quick creamy sauce using 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream and a tsp. of Greek seasoning. Really good; next time I will try marinara sauce.

Savory Kale, Cannellini Bean, and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
Good recipe! Thank you. I make a soup similar to this using 1/2 lb. Italian sausage or 1/4 lb. chopped pancetta. I use 4 cups of chicken broth instead of wine since the soup is good without it. A 1/2 cup of chopped celery is a good addition; I do not use the chile pepper. Spinach can be used instead of kale, as noted by another reviewer. If you want a thicker soup, mash a few beans against the side of the pot and stir before serving.
