Cream Puffs II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2014
This recipe was easy to follow and I listened to the reviews and waited about ten minutes before adding the eggs. I actually removed the dough from the pot, and put it into the bowl of a stand mixer and beat it for about 5-10 minutes, than gradually added the eggs. They were light and fluffy. The only thing... they needed sugar in the dough. I found it odd when I was making it that it didn't have any sugar, even with the powdered sugar on top, it wasn't enough. I added about two tablespoons to the dough but it wasn't enough. I will make these again because my family ate them up, but they all agreed needed more sugar. I didn't make the filling from this recipe, I made a mix of mascarpone whipped cream that I thought of out of my head and it was delicious.

Dutch Almond Boterkoek

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2013
This was a very easy recipe to make. I added some crushed nuts into the actual dough as well as on top and this added an extra crunch. I thought there was slightly too much butter though... But my family didn't mind and loved it but I think next time I will lower the amount down slightly because it was a bit too much. Over all an excellent recipe and will make again

Chocolate Chip Mini-Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
Just made these and they smell delicious, have yet to taste them though.I doubled the recipe and made 6 super large sized muffins. I reduced the measurements for the baking soda and powder because I felt it had too much, and they rose perfectly. I stirred the dry ingredients in by hand, and added chocolate chips last and they did not fall to the bottom, I used regular size. Will make again

This is a creamy polenta and delicious. I made adjustments like using grated Parmesan and also adding the cornmeal with the milk and water while they were cold

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
I made this a second time and I find the best way to make this is 1st leave the cream cheese and butter out until they are room temperature, 2nd beat the butter 1st by itself until it is nice and smooth and creamy than add the cream cheese gradually. I found the mixture at the end to be a lot smoother, and fluffier, my family LOVED it. Perfect for red velvet cupcakes

Red Velvet Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
This was the first time I made red velvet from scratch and it was delicious. I didn't have as much food coloring as required probably a little less that half and I was worried but it turned out wonderful. and not a problem at all. You do not need 2 ounces. The taste of chocolate is a little too subtle, so I will add some more next time. The frosting is delicious. I accidentally added 2 cups of sugar, but it still tasted really good. and easy to make

Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
I lowered the servings to 10 and that was enough for 1 dozen, which was plenty. The cream was okay, I didn't think it was anything special, I was expecting something different, since everyone raved about it. I did add rum instead of vanilla extract, and that gave it a subtle extra flavor.

Super moist, I actually cut the recipe in half and made a little over a dozen cup cakes, the frosting is delicious and it is the first time I made cream cheese frosting, I added vanilla extract to the frosting along with some rum to add more flavor. It is a delicious and easy recipe which I will be using again!

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
This is an amazing dish. I didn't eat it since I am vegetarian but my family LOVED it, and I did make some few adjustments. I did not have any italian sausage on hand or pepperoni, so instead I just put in some salami, which worked great, and instead of the canned mushrooms, I had fresh ones, which needed using, so I just cut those up, cooked them for bit and worked great. I partially made my own sauce which I always feels adds something to a meal, and I used 3 different types of cheese, and mixed in half of it which the pasta, and added more on top. It was great and everyone loved it, will make again, and it is super easy and fast to make.

Easy Baked Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
The reason I gave this recipe 3 stars is because I actually made a lot of adjustments to it. I did not add the soy sauce on top because people in my family do not like saucy wings. and I did dip the wings in the egg but instead of just flour I used breadcrumbs as well and baked them for 45 mins at 350, they came out fantastic, and my family kept asking for more. Great for a side dish or an easy appetizer.

Marble Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This cake takes some time to make but it is worth it! I have made marble cake before but always came out a bit dry, chiffon cake is always light and fluffy so this mixture is great. The flavor is amazing and my family is now calling this a favorite! I wil def. be making this again. Just a tip you do not need that much baking powder, I actually had to substitute using baking soda and cream of tarter and I only put about 2 teaspoons ( 1 tablespoon= 2 teaspoons) and it came out PERFECT!

Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

I felt that there was something missing in the flavor. It was easy to make, but I have had better vanilla puddings. Overall it was okay, I was expecting something much better

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
First time that I made chocolate pudding, it is cooling in the fridge but it tasted amazing! I never knew that chocolate pudding was so easy to make from scratch and I don't think I will ever be buying instant pudding from the store again, I can't wait to eat it, I will be using this recipe again since my family loves pudding

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
YUMMY! it was my first time making blueberry pie and I wanted to make it this thanksgiving. It came out very well my only suggestion is that it needs a bit more sugar since the pie was a bit sour for my taste and also maybe a bit more cornstarch . It was delicious though and everyone LOVED IT!

Blueberry Muffins II

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Best Muffins I have ever made. I did change certain things about the recipe however. Instead of just 1 1/4 cups sugar I put 1 1/2 since the problem I normally have with my muffins is that they are not sweet enough. 2nd since I only had a little less than 2 cups of blueberries I added one very ripe banana which I think made the muffin even moist. I will def be making these again!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
Amazing Cookies!! However instead of putting the oatmeal as it is I blend it in a food processor beforehand that way the oatmeal is more combined and not as Chunky.Beforehand my family didn't like oatmeal cookies because you could taste the chunks and pieces of oats, now the cookies are devoured and everyone says they are DELICIOUS!!! I did however also cut the sugar a bit and only put 1/2 cup of each type of sugar and it was perfectly sweetened! I will def be making these cookies again. Also I add about 1/4 cup extra flour , without it I find that the cookies don't keep their shape, and are a bit too flat

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
I made these cookies with one of my friends for a fun activity. I bought chocolate pudding mix instead of vanilla by mistake however the cookies came out fantastic. Instead of chocolate chips I put M&M's and they were great. But I didn't put as much sugar. They were delicious and I will def make them again. They are soft and its been 3 days and they are still soft.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This recipe was very easy to make and came out very well. However I made some adjustments. I added some more banana, and also I felt the recipe was took plain so added cinnamon, nutmeg, and less than 1 tsp. of ground cloves. It came out great!
