Excellent cake! I did modify it based on David's Yellow Cake, but it isn't enough to rate this any lower. I added substituted 1/3 cups of flour for wheat fine flour for wholesomeness. I used 1 full cup of butter so that it was moist and to perhaps minimize the egg flavor. I used 4 eggs and 1 yolk because it's supposed to be yellow cake, not white. Plus I didn't want to waste the whites (David's Yellow cake calls for 8 yolks only, but many people used 4 eggs instead). I also used 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla. It was delicious, moist, and didn't stink like eggs.
