My Wife Hates Sloppy Joe's, I am not sure why Other than The Fact She Don't Like The Barbecue Sauce, She Will Not Eat Barbecue Potato Chips Also.

So I Had An Idea Today That Maybe I Could Make An Asian Influenced Sloppy Joe.

At First Sue Said No Way, Ain't Going To Happen, And That Was Just The Mention Of The Words "Sloppy Joe".

After Talking to her She Is Against The Idea Of Having Anything Tomato In It, Or Brown Sugar.

So My Idea Is Include Some Of The Following:

01. Minced Beef, Pork Chicken And Shrimp
02. Mushrooms
03. Garlic
04. Ginger
05. Soy Sauce
06. Oyster Sauce
07. Hoisin Sauce
08. Cayenne Pepper
09. Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce
10. Onion
11. Green Pepper
12. Yellow Bell Pepper
13. Orange Bell Peppers
14. Red Bell Peppers
15. Gochujang Paste
16. Carrot

sounds like it might work. Have you looked at the Asian Lettuce Wrap recipe on AR, I have made those several times and they are really good. No reason you could not eat on a bun and in Sue's case maybe she would prefer the lettuce, less sloppy joeish if you know what I mean.

There are lots of recipes online for Asian sloppy joes...hoisin is popular in all of them. You're definitely on the right track.

Well It Sort Of Was A Failure, But Only In The Fact That The Sandwich Was Too Loose. Tonight When I Get Home From Work, I Am Going To Make A Thick Gravy That Should Tighten Up The Meat. The Sandwich Was Good And I Ate The Whole Thing. I Used Pork, Shrimp, Garlic, Ginger, Soy Sauce, Hoisin Sauce, Green Onion, Green Bell Peppers, Yellow Bell Pepper, Red Bell Pepper, Orange Bell Pepper, Carrot, Kaiser Roll.

Did Sue eat it?

covergirl, No, But Tonight She Did, And This Was After I Used 1 Cup Of Chicken Broth And Two Table Spoons Of Corn Starch This Thickened Up The Sauce And Kept Everything Together. Sue Actually Like It Tonight.
