French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
haha! Now children please... I have been using this site for many years. I joined today because this discussion is so funny. Haven't made this recipe yet. May, may not. Looks like a 5 star to me though. Ok here are the facts: Reviewing a recipe which you have changed in not reviewing the recipe... I seldom follow a recipe exactly just because its the way I am. I like to play. The only way to review a recipe is to make it as its described and then rate it. If you change things the next time then say Its rated () as is but... I found it much better when I made it with "these changes". Or add a custom version to the custom version tab (should be obvious). Don't make changes and rate the recipe as you changed it because then its not the recipe we are evaluating and it isnt helpful to anyone and its then just an ego trip you are on. There is nothing wrong with suggesting alternatives that you like but its not fair to any of us if you rate anything other than the original... Sorry thats just the honest facts people. I do love to read about the alternatives don't get me wrong. I just don't like when a cook reviews the recipe based on those changes. By all means HAVE FUN and BE CREATIVE!!!! Haha..

Even better with a little Parmesan sprinkled over it just before serving! My daughter who hates most veggies, loves this zucchini dish.

Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
I've been making this recipe for about 12 years now. People are awestruck when they taste it. They think I am the best cook they know. LOL I might be but its nice to be told. I dont measure exact but I use all the ingredients except some other variation of bouillon powder as we dont have that kind here. Some times its hotter and some times its less hot but no matter what, even those who dont like hot food, cant resist it as it is so flavorful. You dont need any other Jambalaya recipe. This is the one.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
I have made this a lot of ways depending on what I have on hand. Always the fruit called for in the basic recipe but sometimes other fruit as well. Strawberries peaches nectarines apples pears ... A lot of times I haven't had the orange juice on hand. I have never used the full amount of sugar before and I usually use only 1 cup of rum. I have added frozen lime or lemon-aid instead of the orange juice. Today I, for the first time after a couple of years of messing with this recipe finally have made this recipe as listed above. Awesomeness ***** . My rating is for the recipe as listed. This could be called Smooth Heroin wine... One glass and your cheeks are warm... Take care and enjoy...

Easy Shakshuka

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Combine this recipe with this more traditional one and woo hooo. You wont be able to stop making it... If you have access to a middle eastern grocery store sprinkling with Za'atar spice mix really makes it so tasty... Or you can make your own as well... This recipe is awesome on its own but you should try the more traditional way sometime just for fun!
