Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
Yesterday, I bought a bread machine and made my first (basic) loaf of bread. It was bland...bland, bland, bland. Tonight, I attempted this recipe. I followed the instructions to a T, and I experienced what I've seen many other bakers seem to have experienced. It fell. :( Which is quite a shame, because the taste was wonderful, and it seemed quite promising! The crust was a bit crunchier than I'd prefer, and I used the "Light" crust setting. I'm hoping to try again using some of the suggestions in the comments.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
If made exactly as directed, these brownies will not turn out very well. The brownies are a little bitter without the icing, and the icing is hard as a rock and impossible to spread. With a few modifications, however, these brownies are really good. If you add 2 T. of milk to the icing ingredients and mix the icing over low heat, then it will stay soft and spreadable. You can also add 1 T. of butter and 1/4 c. confectioner's sugar to the brownie ingredients to sweeten them up a bit. Also, it only took 25 minutes in my over to cook the brownies. Any more would have burnt them. Good luck!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
This bread is EASY to make, and, if I can say that, then it's truly a simple recipe. It turned out *perfectly.* Our family has devoured an entire loaf in a mere 24 hours. I also chose to ice one loaf with a cream cheese glaze...and it was amazing! Enjoy!

Chicken Casserole Mississippi

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
I made the recipe exactly as directed, and it was delicious! Even my small children (3yo and 18mo) loved it. My mom used to make this dish when I was young, and she lost her recipe. We had no idea what it was called. Imagine my surprise when I randomly made this casserole and realized it was one and the same! Yum!! SO glad I found this!

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I made these cookies according to the ingredients and directions given. I followed the advice of previous reviewers and baked one cookie sheet at a time on the second-from-top oven rack, and I got a perfect crinkle. Chewy and chocolatey. Sweet, but not too sweet. Pretty and impressive! Wahoo! This will certainly be a favorite around this house!
