About this Cook
Cooking is one of the things I do to relax, I get that from my Grandmother. A freezer stocked with homemade "heat and eat" meals makes me do the happy dance. I use organic ingredients whenever possible.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, crock pot meals, freezer cooking sessions, homemade bread, italian, texmex, you name it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Home grown and home canned is better than store bought. My best meal ever was a birthday dinner as a child. Everything on my plate came out of my Grandmother's garden and was prepared (lovingly) by her. So special!!
My cooking triumphs
My husband is in the habit of thanking me, every night, for preparing dinner. We've been married for 20 years and he still does it. That has been so motivating for me as a cook! I consider marrying the right man my greatest cooking triumph. LOL!!
My cooking tragedies
Couldn't tell you. I know I've had a few but life is to short to dwell on the tragedies.

Asian Ginger Grill Marinade
We did steaks and grilled veggies with this marinade. No time to let it sit so I just doused everything on the grill. The husband said it's a keeper!

Double Tomato Bruschetta
This was absolutely fabulous. I used a homemade french loaf, tomatoes and basil from my guarden and organic mozzerella. I didn't have any sun-dried tomatoes on hand but I really didn't feel as though it was missing anything. I will make this recipe again and again and again. Yum!

Crusty Potato Bread
I used forgetmenot's directions for doing it without a bread machine and it turned out FABULOUS! Kneaded with the dough hook on my stand mixer for the 10 minutes she recommended. Couldn't be happier with the results. I will be making this recipe again.
