very good! I didn't have ranch dressing mix so I made some using the recipe on this site. I used this filling for calzones and they were great!

Calzone

This calzone dough was awesome!!! I used the slow cooker buffalo chicken recipe from this site as the filling, with red onions and cheddar cheese. This is definitely way better than store bought dough!!

Viva Madrid Spanish Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This was so good! My husband and I loved it. I didn't have enough chili powder, so I used 1 tsp chili powder + 2 tsp "Essence" that I had made from Emeril's recipe. I also used 1 1/2 cups chicken stock + 1/2 cup white wine. It was sort of like a spicy chicken marsala. The dates were perfect - I was a little unsure about them but will definitely make this again. Thanks!

Banana Bread V

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This was really good. I picked this recipe because I only had 1 egg and will definitely use this recipe again. I totally forgot to add the milk but I didn't miss it. I used all brown sugar and added a little cinnamon as well. Thanks!

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
These were awesome! I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out great. I didn't even really notice the orange/cinnamon flavors. This is much better tasting and easier to handle than the recipe that comes with the pampered chef cookie press.

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

These were great! I used leftover mashed potatoes and fat free sour cream for the dough. I don't really have anything to compare them to but my husband and I loved them!

Baked Bluefish

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
This was a great recipe for bluefish. I changed the quantities of butter to Promise spread for cholesterol reasons, and I didn't even miss the butter. There is just the right amount of dill to give it the flavor without overpowering it. Thanks for the recipe!

Puffs

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
These were really good. I used a small deep fryer and kept the temp at 375 and none of them burst open. It was time consuming to make them but they turned out great! **Note: I tried to make these again after my initial review and I reused the same oil, and the leftover wonton wrappers that I had kept in the freezer, and they came out terrible. They all broke open and were chewy. Definitely use fresh wonton wrappers and fresh oil.**

This marinade was awesome! I cut up the swordfish steaks for kabobs and marinated for 8 hours. I will definitely use this recipe again.

This was great! Everyone loved it. The filling is perfect. I soaked the bananas in the pineapple juice as others suggested, which kept them from browning. Thanks!

Shepherd's Pie Complete

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
This was really good. I made my own mashed potatoes and used 3 cans of gravy because 4 just seemed like too much, and it turned out great. I also sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese on top instead of American.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
These were great! I didn't change anything about the recipe and it only made 5 enchiladas but I might have been using tortillas that were too large. There were only 2 of us anyway so no big deal.

Dinah's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
I served these on Christmas Eve and everyone loved them. I doubled the recipe and made 40 mushrooms and had a ton of stuffing left over. I also cut way down on the butter because when you double the recipe it calls for 3 cups of butter which is a bit excessive! I ended up using 3 sticks of butter but would use 1 more next time.. still wouldn't use 3 cups though. Overall, these were very good and I will probably make them again.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2005
Very good! I added a layer of semisweet chocolate underneath the white chocolate layer.. Tip: don't add vegetable oil to the milk chocolate layer. It doesn't set very well. I froze the milk chocolate, then melted the white chocolate and spread it on top, but I didn't press the candy in enough so when I broke it up all of the candy fell off. Next time I will probably let the milk chocolate layer set at room temp, then do the white chocolate layer so the white chocolate doesn't set so fast.

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
This was pretty good. It reminded me of a recipe that you might find on a Campbell's soup can - this is not a bad thing, just an observation. :) I think the chicken needed a little more flavor, because once the soup and stuffing aren't on top of it it is pretty bland. So maybe if it was seasoned before baking it would help. No problems with the recipe though. Thanks!

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
I made this prime rib recipe for Christmas Eve, and it turned out great - everyone loved it. It took a total of 3 hours to cook though, including the 20 minute searing time. Just a warning to anyone planning to cook this for a dinner party - I had my guests waiting for almost 2 extra hours while it finished cooking! I cooked an 8lb boneless rib roast. I will make this again, I'll just adjust my cooking time accordingly. Definitely take the roast out at 130-135 and let it rest, otherwise it will become more on the medium side, than medium-rare.

Octoberfest German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
This was a really good recipe. I used quartered red potatoes and it came out great. Definitely better the 2nd day...the vinegar aftertaste goes away completely after it sits in the fridge overnight.
