Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
After reading the reviews, I reduced the oil to 1/2 c. and added a chopped red pepper for color. I also used a yellow onion, and it was delicious. Juicy, but just drain and it's fine. I will make this again.

Foolproof Potato Latkes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Too salty for our taste, if I made this again, I would reduce the salt to 1 tsp. I also prefer my potatoes shredded, so I shredded them in my food processor and used 1/2 a large onion chopped in the food processor. Very tasty with applesauce.

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
This was very tastey. I made the glaze as written, but used dry dill rather than oregano as one of the reviewers had suggested. Only had two pieces of frozen salmon (12 oz), so I made the glaze for the 6 serving directed. I'll just save the extra glaze for the other pkg. I have in the freezer. Will make this again.

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Made this for the first time, and added 4T. of cilantro base cooking flavoring. I will make this again, but will utilize some of the additions recommended by other reviewers; cinnamon, chicken bouillon and cumin. I did use brown rather than white rice. I followed the directions of adding enough water to cover the lentils and then the rice and lentil mixture.

Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
The cayenne was too much for my taste and I cut it down to 3/8 tsp. Like many others, I used frozen corn and added a bottle of clam juice. Used salad shrimp, imitation crab and 2 cans of chopped clams w/juice. This might work well in a slow cooker. I had to stack two stove grates on top of one another so as not to burn the bottom of the pan.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
I did as others suggested and mixed in 3 T. of cornstarch with the chicken before cooking it. I also doubled the sauce and served it over brown rice. Added some green and red pepper strips, a sliced carrot, and half an onion. Could have used more veggies and should have cut back on the hot sauce. I like hot, but both my husband and I thought it was too much.

Tofu Lasagna

Reviewed: May 17, 2014
Needs more spices, it is bland. I was desperate for something quick and easy for dinner, and I had a package of tofu, found this recipe. I didn't have any mozzarella (shocking) but had fresh Parmesan and 75% reduced fat cheddar. I shredded the cheddar and used the entire 2 cup pkg of Parmesan. All I had was a combination of WW and white noodles, so they were used. I did substitute garlic salt for regular and threw in the remains of a pkg. of sun dried tomatoes with peppers during the last minutes of cooking the noodles. I used a whole jar of sauce, layering the sauce on the bottom of the pan, layering noodles/tofu mixture. We had to sprinkle red pepper flakes on the finished product to jazz it up, but I'd make this again with sauted onions, garlic, peppers, etc.
