Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
I love these so much that I don't limit making them to only Christmastime! The almond extract totally makes these cookies so much better than rice krispie treats.

World's Best Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
I'd used the same recipe for peanut butter fudge the past few years at Christmastime. The other day I found this recipe and figured what the heck, I'll try it. I'm so glad I did- this is my new go-to recipe!!! The smallest can of peanut butter they had at the store was 16 oz, so I went ahead and used the whole thing. I added a couple of drops of vanilla to the sugar syrup before boiling. I did as others suggested and beat the peanut butter, marshmallow cream, and flour together. I thought I had probably screwed it up at that point because it was kind of a crumby mess, but once I added it to the boiled liquid and mixed it up real well with a rubber whisk, it all melded together perfectly. Love it!

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I really liked this recipe- very simple, and the orange taste complemented the carrots but didn't overwhelm them. The only thing I disliked was how long it took the carrots to soften in the boiling water, but that's not a problem with the recipe itself.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I have no idea what I did wrong, I followed the recipe exactly. But it turned out very dark and crumbly (it looked like cooked ground beef), and did not have much of a peanut buttery taste. I used dark brown sugar, so maybe that can account for the dark color?? I am supposed to be taking this to someone tomorrow as a holiday gift, so I'm going to stay up tonight and try another batch. Okay, after the first batch turned out so horrible, I adjusted the recipe some. I used 2 loose cups of brown sugar and added 2 extra tablespoons of milk. I used 1 and 1/3 cup of peanut butter, and took the powdered sugar down to 2 and 1/4 cups. It turned out sooo much better!!!! I would give the adjusted recipe 4 stars :-D

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I made this last was a different recipe than the rib roast I normally make, but had such a high rating that I had to try it. So glad I did-the roast was simply incredible. I was asked to make it again this year, so had to come to the site today and make sure to mark the recipe. Thanks so much for posting it!

Cheesy Sweet and Savory Spuds

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I love this recipe- would normally never think of mixing sweet and regular potatoes. I do cut waaay back on the pepper, because the 2 Tsp just makes it too spicy for me and distracts from the taste. I also leave the cheese off, my family thinks it tastes better without it.
