Microwave Pralines

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
First time to make pralines. I followed recipe exactly but mine were very runny, about like a loose pecan pie filling. Absolutely delicious, but had to be scraped up with a spoon and eaten. The only thing I can figure out is my microwave (which is not as hot as most) was the culprit. I gave 4 stars only because of the final consistency, otherwise they are a perfect 5 Star. If I could figure out how to make them firm up I would make them again and again. I like the taste better than any I have had.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
This was incredible! I don't use dry mixes so I used onion salt along with a tablespoon of Worcestershire, a dusting of Tony Chachere's original seasoning, a tablespoon of Chipotle Chile powder, and a splash or two of Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce. I didn't have any red wine so I used red apple cider vinegar instead. Everyone raved about how good it was. It was bright and spicy but not too hot and fall apart juicy and tender. Will make this again and again.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I love this partly because it is so quick and easy, but especially for the great taste. Everyone loved it. The chops were not fall apart tender as I expected, but more like tender steaks. This was fine with me. The sauce never thickened up but was delicious nonetheless. Will definately do this again and again.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
This was so simple quick and easy. I decided to double the butter sauce since so many mentioned it and used a chop stick for making the holes to drench. The cake was delicious, moist and a hit with everyone. I'm making it again and adding some sour cream as I think it would add a nice extra touch of moisture. Also want to try different flavors in the butter sauce. Will do again and again.

Angel Lush

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
This is a favorite with my staff. Awesome 5 minutes start to finish with no mess. I have played with several of the sugar free instant Jello puddings. The Vanilla, Butterscotch, and Cheesecake all are great. I buy the sugar free angel food cakes at Wal Mart or have a sugar free recipe to keep the calories at minimum. Low calories and zero fat makes this a standout! No one believes it is sugar free.

Red Cabbage Salad II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This was an easy recipe and gave a great change of pace for our salad/vegetable offerings around here. I didn't have any regular seasoned salt but had the spicy hot blend. It gave it a nice **KICK** and loved it!

Black Pepper Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
This is a great recipe and has become a favorite at my office. I kicked up the pepper using fresh course ground Tellicherry pepper, 2 tablespoons and topped it with a Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting. You'll be very popular if you make this for your group!

Zippy Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
This was very easy and had great results. I used Jimmy Dean Hot sausage and added an extra layer of cheese on top before baking. In my haste I accidentally grabbed the Heavy Whipping cream instead of half and half which I suppose only made it that much better. It was AMAZING! Delicious and everyone went for seconds until it was all gone. I say 2 thumbs up and will make this again. I will probably use croissants instead of the croutons as it will make the dish "plumper" and absorb better and maybe cut the milk in half to firm it up better.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
This was the most difficult thing I have ever baked. The first one fell, burned on the top and was not done in the middle. I set out to do it again and just used all purpose flour the second time. After 45 minutes I could tell it still was not going to be done so I lowered the oven to 275 and it took over 2 hours to bake. I feared the worst but it finally was done and turned out amazing. It is very moist but like others mentioned very delicate (almost breaking apart again.) The frosting came out perfect (I doubled the recipe) and barely covered it all since I did 2 pans and split the layers for a 4 layer cake. It is beautiful and delicious but way way WAY too much work!

Banoffee Pavlova

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
This is a delicious and easy recipe and a great way to use those leftover egg whites. I love the mix of textures. I made a fresh orange whipped cream and topped it with strawberries, mangos, peaches and pineapple. WOW! This will be a huge hit with anyone who tries it!

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

I made these and they were a huge hit! RICH and decadent. Between the Bourbon, Corn Syrup and Chocolate Chips you'll want to veg after having this (before hitting the tread mill.)

Chocolate Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
After reading one of the reviews I too doubled the cocoa and since I only had buttermilk I used it instead of regular milk. This turned out very moist. While I am a huge fan of pound cakes I think I prefer them more traditional where you taste the Vanilla and butter. It just seemed even heavier than most, but very good overall.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I have made so many pound cakes That I thought there was no reason to continue the experiment. This one caught my eye since some of the favorites with my crowd involve cream cheese. This was a GREAT call! With all the eggs, sugar and butter I knew this was going to turn into pure goodness. This is now in my top 3 favorites. The crust is delicious and just right. I loved the dense texture that is so so moist. Great recipe!

Ham Breakfast Braid

This was really easy and delicious. I knew it needed seasoning so I did my usual salt, pepper, onion salt and garlic salt and added a layer of swiss cheese on top of the sharp cheddar I used. It was awesome and everyone loved it. Will do this one again!

Tropical Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
I was looking for an easy coffee cake and ran across this. I am surprised there are not a lot more stellar reviews. This is delicious! After reading the reviews I decided to add a teaspoon of Vanilla Paste (love the little black seeds). Everyone just flipped over it and I recommend to all! A refreshing change from the expected "Coffee Cake" and light taste. I cut mine into 1" squares to serve like finger foods.

Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
This is a total WOW! Everyone loved it. I always refused to use box cakes but it seems that all the gooey butter cake recipes called for them. This one had great reviews so I went with it. I used a Butter Recipe Golden Duncan Hines mix and otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Mine was perfect at 45 minutes.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Disregard any negative reviews. This thing is AMAZING! I made it precisely by the directions and it was so moist and delicious! I did have to cook it a few minutes longer but as always I recommend watching and take it out before it gets too done! Any complaints about dry cakes and breads are 99% of the time because the cooked it to death.
