KITCHEN WITCH IS IN THE HOUES! Recipes are the starting point, its what you add and what you do that make them YOURS! I am a re-tread college student and mother of five gorgeous children! My eldest will be graduating in 2007 and my youngest starts 1st grade in the fall of 2006. I LOVE to cook! When I was asked by my grandmother what I would like when she was passing, I asked for her personal recipe book. These are the things that bind families together like mine, cooking and eating at the table and enjoying the pleasures that we can have creating. We are cooking our love not just our meals! I am going back to school to be a sociologist and get my degree also in Women's Studies. Studying history from a woman's eyes is hard because of how it has been recorded in the past, and one of the greatest gifts that women have given US is their personal cookbooks! The notes, the passion and the thoughts are our eyes to what women were about back in our history and lessons for us in our future.

My cooking triumphs
My chili and my pasta salad... oh and my cinnamon rolls for a brigade. It took me organizing 10 kitchens, twenty women and a LOT OF TIME and running back and forth to get a batch of home-made cinnamon rolls *all 480 of them* for my husband's brigade!!
My cooking tragedies
These pork chops.. i make excellent marinates and one day i invited a couple over on a whim. We had just moved to Texas and i was not stocked on a lot of stuff, so i did my normal thing and combined some lovely mint i had picked in the back yard with soy sauce, something I do a lot... however i did not realize i had also added two types of mint and YUCK it was awful, that and i did not have a broiler so i baked them and they were just AWFUL, everyone ate them anyway and i had the couple over for king crab and tortellini pomodora salad the next week to make up for it!!!
