About this Cook
What can I say? I love to cook!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook comfort food. I believe simple is best, buy the best and let the ingredient shine!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We make butter homemade in a jar every Christmas, we just put a pint of cream in a quart jar and take turns shaking it up until it becomes butter. Everyone attending must take a turn for good luck!

Barbeque Bacon Chicken Bake
How could you go wrong with delicious chicken, bacon and the sweet/spicy taste of barbecue sauce? Another awesome way to make this recipe is to take chicken tenders and poke a skewer through and use a grill instead of an oven. This is a great appetizer too! Cut in small bites, after cooking the bacon cut pieces in half and wrap around each chicken bite. You wouldn't need to cook as long, but these would be cute with toothpicks poking out as well. Kudos Rach!

Mac and Cheese in a Cheese Waffle Cone
I love the idea of the cheese cone, and for kids, I'll even give you the boxed mac n cheese. But can you just imagine using those cheese cones for a party bite? Made a tad smaller they could be filled with almost anything from salad to broccoli with cheese to ham salad. Great idea Poker Mike!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars
These were incredibly easy and tasty! Hubby loves granola bars and we've just gone gluten free, making our own bars is a no-brainer. I did a simple substitution of agave in place of the corn syrup. I added dried cherries and cranberries in place of raisins and I tossed in some crisp rice cereal for lightness and crunch. I was heavy handed with the coconut and sunflower seeds, adding a bit more than the recipe. I'll be using this recipe again, I'm planning on using some almond butter and cinnamon next time! And maybe add pumpkin seeds! Or dried apples, craisins and cinnamon!
