Broccoli Cheese Soup

I followed some of the suggestions from previous reviews (used 2lb each broccoli & cheese, and instead of mixing the cornstarch w/ water I reserved the 4th can of broth for that step), and it turned out FABULOUS! My husband, who cannot stand cooked broccoli (and even griped about the broccoli smell as it cooked), went back for thirds! Definitely a keeper! I might try it w/ ham & potatoes instead of the broccoli sometime, as I suspect the base would work well for a potato cheese soup as well.

Italian Style Flounder

This was a flop for us. I am surprised, because it is made of ingredients that we generally really like. The fish came out mushy (maybe because we live in CO & it was frozen vs. fresh?), and the lemon didn't seem to pair well w/ the other flavors...probably won't make again.

Curried Cashew, Pear, and Grape Salad

I added cooked chicken to make this a main course. The chicken helped take some of the edge off--the flavor of the spices may have been too strong otherwise. I will definitely make this again, but will be selective about who I serve it to.

I didn't have mixed greens, so I used romaine & it worked fine. Otherwise, I prepared the recipe as written. My hubby & I both really enjoyed it--the flavors compliment each other well.

Crunchy Romaine Toss

I cut the sugar in half and followed another viewers suggestion to use toasted almond slivers--very good! My husband and I both really enjoyed this recipe. I made & dressed too much salad for the two of us to eat at dinner, but was happy to discover that my salad was still crunchy for lunch the next day.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Made this several times last summer...my husband & I both loved it! We've got spring fever and are craving fresh foods, so it's time to break out the salad recipes again. I followed the suggestion from other reviews to cut the sugar down to 1/4 cup, and found this to suit our tastes perfectly.
