Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
WOW!!!!!!!! This pie is awesome! I would definitely take the suggestions of a lot of the reviewers and mix the syrup with the apples before putting into the pie. We ate our pie with vanilla bean ice cream and it was delish!

Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2003
This hummus was good and used very little ingredients. I omitted the jalepenos and added 3 sundried tomatoes instead. The only thing I didn't like was the texture, it was a little too thick for my liking. Maybe adding some tahini will make it smoother.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2003
VERY good coffee cake! Has just the right amount of sweetness. I made the glaze but instead of putting sprinkles, I sprinkled on some leftover chopped walnuts. It looked beautiful!

Banana Muffins I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2003
VERY good and healthy recipe!!!! I added milk chocolate chips, pecans and coconut and topped it wil a streusal topping before baking. They came out SO delicious!!!!! If you want to make them even healthier, substitute whole wheat flour and I added ground flaxseed for some omega-3's!

Turtle Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2003
YUMMY!!!! This cake was really easy to make and tasted SO good! I used 2/3 cup evaporated milk and 1/4 cup butter and I got a great consistency with the caramel. Also, I would recommend after baking the first layer to trim the top off, so that the cake remains even because once you pour the caramel on, it tends to pool at the edges. Next time I will definitely do that!

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2003
This french toast is SO yummy! Making it the night before is SO much easier! I used thick sliced bread so I didn't need as many slices...I used 12 slices.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2003
What a great salad! The fruit, nuts and cheese all complement each other very well. I had a lot of dressing left over which was great because it was so yummy!

Basic Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
These truffles were ok...I took the advice of one of the reviewers and used a flavoured creamer...I used hazelnut. The taste was ok, but I thought the taste was a bit too bitter for me even though I used semisweet chocolate. If I do make these next time, I will use milk chocolate. I dipped them in milk chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate so they look very pretty.

Candy Cane Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2002
These cookies were VERY easy to make and did not take a long time, I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about. I put the candy canes in a sealed plastic baggie, then smashed them with a meat "pounder"...so that cut the time. Also, I shaped them into balls then flattened them a little before baking. They are not very sweet though, so I drizzled them with milk chocolate and they tasted great! They look very festive and took no time at all to make!

White Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2002
This fudge was AMAZING! I couldn't believe how good it turned out because it was very easy to make! My only suggestion is that you use parchment paper to line the pan, then after you've chilled it, you can just take the fudge out of the pan with the paper and cut it into squares, it's a lot easier!

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2002
These cookies taste great!! Not too sweet, but not bland at all. The white chocolate gave it sweetness but not too much. I did make the following changes though: (1)Added 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup white (2)I rolled the dough into balls and flattened them a bit before baking, if you don't flatten them they will keep their shape and turn cake-like and (3)I baked them at 350 degrees for 9 minutes. These cookies came out perfect and they were SO easy to make!

5 Minute - Candy Bar Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
I just have one suggestion....make sure you add 2 boxes of pudding mix!! I thought that one box is more than enough because the pie crust looked shallow...but I was wrong! I had to compensate by adding more whipped topping and it came out very sweet and runny, it didn't hold it's shape at all! Otherwise, it still tasted great and my roommates didn't complain!

Blueberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2002
I thought these muffins were ok, nothing special. They weren't too sweet though, but the streusel topping was really good, it definitely helped to make them sweeter.

A great, light cheesecake. I made 2 pies instead of a cake and swirled in the berries...yummy!

Easy Valentine Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2002
I found this recipe to be harder than I thought. The dough was very hard to work with, it kept sticking and it was hard to transfer the shapes to the cookie pan. I had to refrigerate it for an hour or two before I was able to work with it. However, these cookies are very yummy and turned out great, but I wouldn't put the effort into making them again.

Caramel Apple Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
This was a great cheesecake recipe, it turned out delicious and it was really easy to make. I found that you don't need to add as much of the caramel sauce as the recipe says.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
WOW!!!! This fudge is the BEST!!!! It is SO easy to make and tastes amazing! My family cannot stop eating it! If you are thinking of substituting margarine for the butter...DON'T. I made 2 batches and the one with margarine had separated and was different shades of brown but the one with butter was smooth and creamy!!!!

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2001
This glaze is great! It doesn't make the cookie taste too sweet and it's great as a base coat or just by itself.
