Rice Pudding V

I followed the directions, but did not use a double boiler. The receipe turned out fine in exactly the time specified. The result was good, but not remarkable. A fine standard rice pudding.

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie

It was good, but not outstanding. I made this pie and a regular pecan pie at Thanksgiving and everyone preferred the traditional pecan. I had no trouble with the recipe being too much filling for my pie plate, but it was a full sized plate and not a disposable aluminum one.

Tabbouleh III

This was excellent. On a whim I substituted pearl barley (real stuff, not quick cooking) for the bulgur and it was great. Also added 4 oz of feta. This was delish and I will make again. Even the kids ate it.

Oven Fried Chicken III

This was quite good. My kids are picky eaters and they all enjoyed this. My son even asked for seconds (which is really rare). I made it with boneless skinless chicken breast and it came out fine. I will make this again.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

I liked this and would try it again. I was in a hurry so I didn't pan fry instead I baked them on a sheet at 400 from 10 min or so each side. Next time I would take the time to pan fry and chop my nuts a little finer.

Quick Italian Vegetable Soup

This is a good starting place for veg soup. I added a clove of fresh garlic during the saute stage. I did not use beef broth, just water, and seasoned with salt, pepper, bay, oregano, basil, and a little red pepper. I also added the onion just halved and fished it out at the end after simmering 2 hours or so. I omitted cabbage and zuchini as I didn't have these in the house, but would try at another time. The result was a very tasty soup that would prolly take well to sausage or chicken or other add ins like pasta or potato. I made a double batch for freezing and I would make this again.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Good! Tastes just like the expensive store bought imported mix I had been buying. My picky kids ate it all up. I omitted the flour/breadcrumbs and it was just fine.

Baked Potato Soup

Well, I tried this in the crock pot as one reviewer suggested and got mixed results. I don't know if my flour clumped or if my cream curdled, but the result was almost like egg drop. My onion was large and I think over powered in the crock pot. In all it wasn't a bad soup, but not spectacular. I may try this again in the traditional preparation.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Well, I just wasn't over the moon with these bars. The bake time seemed too long and my bars burned a bit around the edges. Burnt raisins are bad. Also, I don't know how you would need to slice these up to get a yeild of 24 ... Taste wise they were just not a stand out. My son was the only one in the house interested in eating them.
