Springtime Spaghetti

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
Didnt follow the recipe, tailored it to empty out my vegetable bin. I used the carrots and added some broccoli, fresh mushrooms, a small onion, forgot about the garlic!, and subbed Half and Half with some 1/2% milk, dried dill, and sprinkled shredded cheese on top. Delicious! Next time, I will remember to add garlic!

Italian Confetti Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I liked it and brought it to a NYE party. Unfortunately, there was plenty left over and in the trash it went. I dont know why people didnt like it more. I did use 1 cup of mayo and 1 cup zesty Italian dressing, and the next morning had to use more as it was dry. Keep searching for the perfect pasta salad.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
I added less water but maybe next time I won't add any at all, especially if I'm using stale bread. Mine didnt hold shape in the fry pan, but definitely were tasty, just not attractive ball shaped.

Royal Icing I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Recipe is quite misleading - I ended up using over a pound of confectioner's sugar to make it stiff enough to pipe onto gingerbread people to adhere decors on. Maybe if I were to ever use this recipe again, I'd use just one egg white and take it from there. I had a LOT of waste after adding all that sugar to stiffen it up.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I used Progresso Italian breadcrums, a little extra dill weed, and these were excellent! I mixed everything together but added the salmon last and lightly mixed together before forming into patties. I served with a little mayo mixed with lemon juice on the side for dipping. Use good quality canned salmon for this for the best results!

Broccoli Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I have a similar recipe that calls for the addition of a can of whole kernel corn, drained. To that, I add a box of Chicken in a Biscuit crackers, crushed, with a stick of melted butter. Stir it all together, reserving a cup of cracker/butter mixture to sprinkle on top. Then proceed with cooking. (Omit the stuffing mix and egg) It's sinfully delicious!

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
Excellent! I marinated the chicken for about 4 hours. I used a teaspoon or so of lemon-pepper seasoning instead of salt and black pepper. The addition of the Dijon mustard really gave it a nice kick!

Banana Split Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
I was a little hesitant at first because there were no eggs or oil to hold the batter together, but then that's why the Mayo is in there! I added some chopped cherries and a smidgen of pure vanilla extract to the batter as well. These are excellent! Thanks for the recipe.

I've made this but subbed the fresh broccoli for a bag broccoli slaw you can get from the grocery that has carrots and purple cabbage in it - very good!

Sloppy Joe Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I haven't tried this yet, I do have a can of Manwich in the cupboard. However, I think I will first saute the onions and peppers first AND then add the sloppy joe sauce and omit the breadcrumbs and substitute Mozzarrella and Parm for the cheddar cheese.

Sesame Broccoli

The house smelled wonderful after I made this. Must be the sesame oil, of which I added more than what was called. I also added a dash or two of soy sauce for extra kick close to the end of the cooking time.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Good but not the "best." It was just a tad too oily for me. I added chocolate chips and they pretty much sunk to the bottom and ended up on the bottom of the pan when the bread was removed. I may use less oil next time, and like one reviewer said, sprinkle the chocolate chips on the top.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
This was excellent! The next time I make it, I will leave out the 2tsp of salt as I had already used a low sodium broth and it was still quite salty. Can't wait until my family tries it tonight. I've already had 2 bowls of it and it's not even lunchtime yet!
