Three Cheese Chicken Penne Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This is a great pasta recipe. My kids loved it, and they are so picky. I used a bag of frozen spinach and 16 ounces of multigrain pasta (whole box), but it turned out great. The baking dish needs to be bigger, I used 13 by 9. The multigrain pasta is great, it stays consistent, and doesn't get mushy, and it's healthy too.

Bananas in Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
These were great. I used brown sugar instead of fine sugar, you don't really need fine sugar, plus the brown sugar gave a caramel color to it without needing to cook very long. Use low heat with the sugar. Make sure your bananas are ripe but not too ripe. Also the sauce is plenty, and you can add two or more bananas if you like. And I did let it boil a little bit longer. And the sauce is thick enough, and it can be used as a single dessert by itself! Super delicious!!!!

Lentil Soup with Lemon

I thought it turned out a little too thick, it was more like hummus than soup.

Ribbon Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2004
I made this yesterday. My toddler loved it. My husband liked it. My advice is put the flavor you least like in the bottom because it sticks in the bottom (but not too bad!). When you mix the unflavored gelatin with the water, dissolve it well cause it could form tiny little balls of gelatin. I used a mixer to mix the sour cream, milk and gelatin. If you are a jello fan, this is the recipe for you!

Nice dresssing, however I would prefer using olive oil than vegetable oil.

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I've made this a few times, it's great if you like sweet potatoes. The toasted marshmallows taste delicious too. You can cut down on the butter some, because there's always some excess butter on the dish afterwards.

Good healthy recipe. I don't give it 5 stars because it's not the best burrito I have ever had.

It was good but a little too sweet. I would do it again, but cut down on the cranberries and apples next time.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Awesome! I might have put more rice than needed, cuz it turned out thick so I added extra stock. Here are some tips: - No salt needed - Didn't think thyme was needed, but I added some anyway. - Ingredients must be finely chopped (it taste better this way) - I grated the carrots instead of chopping them. Awesome soup, would definitely make it again!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
My girlfriend really liked this. I think it was okay, tasted like chicken chili to me. I followed the recipe and didn't change anything. But next time I would use diced tomatoes only instead of the whole ones. The whole ones are big and don't melt in the pot. This makes a huge amount, so use a large pot.

Didn't have any ginger, but tasted great anyway. The ginger would give it an extra kick, next time will try with ginger.

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
My whole family raved about this. It's definitely a keeper. However I used 1 and a half cups of flour like others recommended. I also doubled the recipe. One think I might add next time is some seasoning, or maybe cheese to the dough, since it was pretty plain without it. But overall, excellent dish. I served it with meat sauce.

Got rave reviews on this salad by friends. Don't need to use expensive roquefort, blue cheese is fine. Also added strawberries for color.
