Pumpkin Pie Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
Yummmm. Thank you for a delicious pumpkin bread! This recipe has just the right amount of pumpkiny flavor (IMO) and is super moist! We really love that the flavor isn't overwhelming! Mine baked for 70 minutes and was perfect! Will be making again very soon!

Apple Cinnamon White Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
Wow. This is a winner! I made 2 and so glad I did. I'm taking one to a friend and keeping one for us :)! I used the pink lady apples and the cake is very apple-y and delicious! I added a full teaspoon salt to the batter which really helped to intensify the flavors, and it took 1 hour in my oven. For those who had problems with this, remember all ovens are different and cook times will vary. I recommend setting for 40 minutes and checking. If it is at all jiggly or squishy on top you want to keep baking. Add another 5 or 10 minutes and keep checking until top is firm-ish. For those who found it dry be sure you are measuring your flour properly. Spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off with a knife. You might be packing it too much. This cake would be hard to dry out with all the delicious apple in it! Thanks for a great recipe Jinglebells! It's a keeper!

Creamy Pesto Gnocchi with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
Love this! I couldn't find frozen gnocchi, so we made it with penne pasta. I am planning to make it again soon with homemade gnocchi! I made homemade pesto and made the recipe as is. It was delish with the penne pasta, so I imagine the gnocchi will put it over the top! Can't wait to try it like that. The hubs LOVED this and ate way too much hahaha Thanks, Johnsonville!

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
Very good! I made homemade alfredo sauce and homemade pesto. Very flavorful. I'd maybe add some red pepper to spice it up just a bit or it would be good with sausage too. It's a versatile recipe, just be sure to season your chicken when cooking! Thanks MinerFamily!

Italian Pocket Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
These are quick and easy to make and taste pretty good too. The recipe is great as is. The sausage is full of flavor! You really don't need to, but I added garlic and onions when cooking the sausage. I also had about a tablespoon of basil pesto I needed to use up, so I added that to the meat and cheese mixture as well - it really added that special something. I used a grill pan to grill the pitas and it worked great! Thanks for a yummy recipe :)

Meatball Sub Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
This is a great idea! Thanks! I added more flavor by making homemade meatballs and sauce and I mixed up some mozzarella cheese with some garlic herb spread and spread that on the bread (I used a baguette from the bakery-not the frozen bread). Baked it until the cheese was bubbly and then I topped that with the meatballs and the sauce and some more mozzarella along with a little bit of italian bread crumbs and then baked until the cheese melted. It was really quick, easy and delicious! Thanks!

Maple Basted Roast Turkey with Cranberry Pan Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
We really enjoyed this. I had a 10lb turkey and followed the recipe pretty closely. I was a little short on time, so I cooked this at 350 degrees for 2 hours and let it rest about 30 minutes while I made the gravy. I did salt and pepper the turkey for seasoning, and I changed the amount of maple syrup. I only used 1/4 cup of the maple syrup and it turned out great. I really liked the texture and flavor the syrup added. I also really liked the gravy! It made way too much, so next time I would probably half it for this size turkey. We liked the flavor very much. The cranberry went well with the pan drippings and really had a perfect mix of sweet and acidic. It was a pleasant surprise as I really didn't think it was going to be to my liking. Thanks, Butterball!

Hawaiian Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
I did not like these at all. I could not eat the turkey patties. They taste highly processed and are very salty. They actually reminded me of cafeteria food. I think this would be a delicious sandwich if patties are made with fresh ground turkey.

Sizzling Bison Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
The sauce is really good. I recommend using salt and pepper on the veges and the meat before cooking. The bison is tender and low in fat and calories which makes it a nice alternative to beef, but I have to admit I did miss the beef flavoring a bit in this recipe. The bison is not as flavorful and even tasted slightly gamey for me.

So good! I scaled this down to 4 servings but made it as directed. Went great with the Mediterranean Beef Meatball Kabobs on this site. Thanks for the tasty sauce!

Mediterranean Beef Meatball Kabob

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
This is super tasty. I would have given it 5 stars but the directions are flawed and leave out the bread crumbs, eggs (although I used 1 whole egg and it was fine), and water that is listed in the ingredients list (I did not use the water though - my meat mixture did not need it) Additionally, it doesn't say to mince the garlic. I used an 80/20 meat as it is so much more flavorful than the lean stuff. I also used fresh flat leaf Italian parsley and 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic. I used seasoned bread crumbs and just 1/2 teaspoon cumin as it can be overpowering. I made the Greek Tzatziki sauce recipe from this site. The meatballs were full of flavor and held their own with the Tzatziki Sauce - they went very well together. I really think it is important to use fresh parsley and 1 tablespoon of garlic for best results along with a more flavorful meat like the 80/20. I cooked the meatballs at 425 for 15 minutes and they were juicy and delish! I broiled the flat bread until lightly toasted and topped with 4 meatballs, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and fresh parsley. We loved this meal! I served it with baked sweet potato fries which complemented the sandwich nicely! Great flavors! Thanks for a delicious recipe. I did notify allrecipes to the errors, so I'm sure they will correct the directions soon and I will change this to 5 stars then!

Cheesy Chicken and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2013
This is a tasty dish that is easy to prepare. I love that the recipe uses fresh veges!! I did make this in one pan by first cooking the chicken and veges as outlined in step 2 of the directions. I removed the chicken and veges to a plate when cooked through and proceeded to cook the rice (using the same pan) as outlined in step 1. I tasted this prior to adding the cheese and really liked it as is, but added the cheese thinking it makes everything better, right? In this case we actually liked it better without the cheese, surprisingly! I added the GOYA Adobo seasoning sparingly to the chicken because some other reviewers found the dish too salty, however, that was not the case for me and ended up adding some salt and pepper to the chicken after it was cooked. Be warned it does have msg so if you are allergic make your own spanish style rice.

Chipotle Cheeseburger

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
I didn't like these. I think it is the chipotle. I guess I'm not a fan of that pepper. My husband thought they were okay, but I will not be making these again.

Black Beans and Rice

My husband liked these, but he likes the other black bean and rice recipe on this site better - as do I because it is easier to make, but these were flavorful.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
We didn't care for this. The sauce was okay, but the whole dish was just strange for us. I think it would be better if you just grill the chicken or even make real fried chicken and then make the sauce separately. Definitely didn't like the breading on the chicken cooked in the butter.

Basil-Garlic Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
Super easy and dee-lish! Thanks for a wonderful recipe. I gave 4 stars because cooking them to 145 degrees overcooks them a bit. I cook pork to 138-140 and let them rest 5-10 minutes for best results. Thanks again!

Lemon Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
Thank you for a delicious recipe. I only made 1 pound of shrimp (that was a mistake!) I kept the marinade the same. I grilled these in my grill pan and they turned out great! I used some of the reserved marinade to season some rice and summer veges. It was a wonderful meal. I look forward to making it again! Thanks for sharing!

Balsamic Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
Thank you for a wonderful recipe! I made Mama's Balsamic Vinaigrette from this site for the marinade (deelish), and used roma tomatoes. I only marinated for about 5 hours, so I baked the chicken in the marinade at 350 degrees F until temp reached 150 degrees (about 40 mins for thick breasts). Then I covered the dish with foil and let rest for 10 minutes. I followed the rest of the recipe topping with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and roma tomatoes and served. The cheese melted slightly from the heat of the chicken and it was perfect! Very refreshing and full of flavor! Next time I will plan ahead and marinate the full time and then cook as directed! Thanks again for a wonderful dish!
